I had to teach The Sixties(mostly American orientated (Flower Power/Hippy stuff) Civil Rights, The Vietnam War. Also show the movie 1969 with Kiefer Sutherland, which I don't think it is much of a movie. I recently was looking for a history textbook that I used which had the lyrics of 'Lucy in the Sky of Diamonds' and discussed whether this song was talking about LSD. I started 'tie-dying' t-shirts back in 1970. One show I used to watch all the time when I was a kid was the Dobbie Gillis Show/The Many loves of Dobie Gillis (I thought Bob Denver was so cool.) I used to get scared when he used to go and sit near Rodin's statue.
Another thing I remember was I wanted a 'Maltese Cross' chain thing because I saw some guy on the street like a hippy wearing one so my dad bought me one and there was this Greek lady in our street who complained to my mother saying the Germans used to wear them and my mother wanted to take it off me, anyway my father said only I was allowed to decide so he watched me in the backyard smash it with a hammer.
