Ahem. Hey, hi, hello, how are you.
Normally, I'm really funny, I swear, but when I'm introducing myself to new people I seem really stiff and formal. I just wanted to let you know that I'm actually not a fifty-two year old British woman with forty-seven cats and a breathing problem.

I'm a semi-normal American teenager with a breathing problem.

I'm Nicolette and the only work of Stephen King's I've ever read is On Writing. I've never read King's other fabulous novels mostly because I can't read horror or suspense novels without simultaneously becoming a chronic insomniac, and I need my beauty sleep.

But not to fear; I'm considering changing my mindset towards the horror genre as a whole after reading his instructional memoir of writing. Besides, I need something new to read while I avoid frivolous social obligations, anyway.

Well, I have nothing further to say. Oh, wait, I do have a question.

Which Stephen King book should I start with?

(I'll explain the picture: Fun fact about me, Leonid Afremov is my favorite artist and this is one of my favorite s by him. Can you write a story about the woman in this picture?)

And what exactly would be wrong with that, young lady? ;-D

Welcome to the board! Hmm, hard to recommend a SK book that won't keep you up late...they are all so readable they're bound to keep you awake reading!

I like that artist's work - I looked up some of his paintings and they are very vivid. I have a suggestion for you - have you tried a short story called "Big Driver" yet? It's one of four in a book collection. I found that one quite scary.

It is from "Full Dark, No Stars"
