Good evening!

What do you like or hate about Halloween? Costumes, candy, cartoons and experiences?

I'll start.

One of my little cousins was going to have a Halloween costume contest at her elementary school and she really, really, REALLY, wanted to win. I thought about for awhile and I came up with something.

I made her a

Santa Claus costume. Hat, coat (with padding- jelly belly), trousers and beard.

They had a costume parade and she won! Yay!

I love It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown special.

Please share some of your Halloween things!

Thank you.:love_heart:

I love October and Halloween. It's my favorite time of year. Candy. Chic-O-Sticks. I used to get very excited if I got a chic-o-stick in my bag.

Some favorites from when I was a kid - the Great Pumpkin, of course. And the Donald Duck Halloween cartoon. I had the album - 1 side was the story and the other side was creepy sounds. My best costume was always a gypsy. Somehow we always had that kind of garb around the house. And that cartoon set to scary music the music teacher played for us in elementary school every year. GNTLGNT
helped me find it last year. I've forgotten again.

I'm ready for fall. So ready. It's too darn hot here right now. Steamy.

My mom made my best friend and I Raggedi Ann costumes. We won the parade. I just remember mops being dyed orange in the kitchen. Found the picture years later and gave it to her. She had it framed, now it's there for all to see. :hopelessness: Least she got to be Andy, arm slung round me.

Next Halloween we got in a little bit of trouble. My mom sewed and worked. We went as nuns. Full on out. Habits, big collar thing, cross, robe. It did not go over well when we went to the convent for trick or treat. I don't know what happened , but that was trouble.

I love my mom for this random stuff.

How my $2.52 Halloween pumpkin became the $52.52 Halloween pumpkin...

It was very late and I was tired. (Working full time and going to University.) I stopped at the grocery store and saw the pumpkins. I got a little, teeny, tiny, pumpkin for John. I wrote a CHECK for $2.52 (kill me), not knowing my wonderful hubby had totally messed up the checking account. The check bounced. $25.00 fee from the store and $25.00 fee from the bank. Thus, the $52.52 pumpkin. Have mercy.

Darling one! You love watermelon as much as I do and I thought about you a few weekends ago. I was making a fruit melange with watermelon the main deal. I noticed a lemon in the crisper drawer ... and I got a wild hair. =D I got the lemon and squirted the juice all over the fruit and added salt (Sea salt). (Because my high blood pressure will NOT be the boss of me!) Oh. My. Goodness!

The sweet from the fruit, the tangy from the lemon juice and the savory from the sea salt~~~~

Hugs!

;;D

My Momma rented a nun costume for me one year. (Yes, it's ALL her fault!) Hubby and I went to a Halloween party and I was decked out as a nun. Somewhere out there there are images of me in a nun costume, cigarette clenched between my lips (squinting) and a beer bottle close by, shooting pool. (I'm going to he!!)

Just another day for me now that my kids are grown. I live in a semi-rural area on a street with no streetlights so haven't had trick or treaters for over a decade. My daughter texted me that she's going to tie a red balloon to my granddaughter's stroller (she'll be 11 months then) and make her a paper boat. She didn't think my granddaughter would sit still long enough for Pennywise face makeup, though. Thinking ahead, she wants to do the SAW doll as a costume next year. I have no idea what that is but I'm sure most of you do. I am a little concerned that child protective services may be called in, though. :D

You may want to sew that little one up a new Pennywise costume, at least. Best go see the movie... Call it 'research.' ;):)
