I don't think it has anything to do with owning an Apple product; it's more to do with having purchased ebooks through Amazon (or other retailers).

I just got an email from amazon saying I had a new credit on my account from the Apple lawsuit settlement. It is a pretty good credit, too! $17.92. Whoohoo!

I got an email today from B&N that my acct will be credited within the next few days as a result of the settlement
(I use my nook app much more than I use my kindle app)
