blunthead these were people who work at buzzfeed. So, not specifically chosen for their lack of education. And we are neighbours and allies....and as a group, American's know little to nothing about us.

I can show you more. Rick Mercer does some fabulous interviews which are on YouTube. (He's a political satirist who makes fun of Canadians too, but what he gets American's to do because they know nothing about their own neighbours....it's great.)

You're showing this to me because I posted that I don't think that most Americans don't care about world events? I certainly don't know which Provinces are which, but I'm not ignorant of world events and I do care very much about people in other countries. If I were Canadian I'd know, not because I'd automatically know or because I care more about the world than someone else, but because since childhood I've always had a love of maps. I once drew a map of the world in the street in front of my house with chalk (I forgot the British Isles, though, but it was getting late and it was suppertime). I know all of the United States and their locations, including all the New England ones, which are exceptionally tricky.

But I don't think most people in most countries could name and locate the Canadian Provinces. Thanx for showing me this, though.

To be fair, I couldn't name all 50 states accurately. But I can google with the best of them!

Heck, i have problems with getting all the swedish provinces correct when placing then on a map. If it came to Canada or Australia (or for that matter Norway) i would be totally lost.

Most people, Americans included, aren't sure where certain States are located. I can't name them unless I'm looking at a map of the U.S., but even that ability only comes with as a child having loved the U.S. map and how all the States are like puzzle pieces. I knew all of the capitals at one time when I was young but a good many of us kids did then.

I know that AnnaMarie was only trying to follow up on a discussion we'd had yesterday.

Yes. Without taking the other thread to far off topic. I try to not do that....to often.

The maps honestly, are funny. But Americans donating money to save our political buildings because they are made of ice and global warming is melting them....congratulating us on finally getting telephones....and when the names of our prime minister get twisted around and he is referred to as King....

There's a good one with George Bush....and he had been to Canada and met our Prime Minister and still congratulated our King.

And don't get me started on businesses.

I find this post interesting and coincidental. My oldest son is absolutely amazing when it comes to the world. I can give him a blank map and he can fill almost every single thing in. Not just main stuff, but little side mtn ranges and lakes and all sorts of weird crap. My geography is woefully ignorant.

So, in the last month, I decided I was going to learn at least the major places in the world. I started with Africa. I copied off the net numerous blank africas and started filling them in. I still suck, but I can do a little better.

I'll maybe do Canada next.

Sometimes there actually is tourists in Stockholm, or even Sweden that is very diaapointed that there are no polarbears to be seen anywhere in sweden and not any bears on the streets, not even an ordinary bear. There are bears in sweden but the population is not big and hunting is banned. Only when a bear goes wild and start to lurk on cattle and sometimes even dogs and people close to cities they are killed if you cant catch them and let them loose in the wild again.
