Dang, Malaysian Airlines can't catch a break, can they?
Those poor passengers. What an absolutely horrible way in which to die.
Isn't it interesting where that place crashed: the very region that's heavily disputed between Ukraine and Russia.
I think not.
ugh..quote from cbs news.. "Bodies are scattered for miles.Debris is scattered for miles." Those poor innocent people..

Not good. Apparently on Monday a missile took down a Ukrainian military transport plane with 20 on board with a rocket that may have been fired from Russia.

And now this disaster today.
They are thinking it was shot down!
For the 295 souls taken before their time........
When will it all stop????
What i don't get is why they were flying through a place thats a known war area.
R.I.P to all!
The USA had in place prohibitive flight plans in the area. Since this morning, numerous international countries are following suit.
Unfortunately- a tad late for those on the plane.
Perhaps they thought by flying at over 30,000 ft, where most of your commercial planes cruise at, they would be easily identified as friendly. It was the most direct route from what I can tell, but yeah I know I would be thinking twice about it.
That's the *very* first thing I thought, too!
-Per Al-Jazeera News just now: it was indeed a missile that took down MH Flight 17. It was shot about 15 miles from the Russian border, but they don't know whose missile was fired. No one is speaking about it (yet), other than other airlines making social media statements that they will be giving the area a wide berth as they continue to fly their scheduled flights.
My speculation includes theories of another Malaysian pilot who was incited by extreme fundamental Muslim sentiment to knowingly fly directly into the path of actively warring enemies - and take himself out along with a bunch of Westerners. There were multiple nationalities on board that flight that included Dutch citizens (per the English reporter on Al-Jazeera).
And suddenly the world becomes an even a more dangerous place to live. Why is it so often it’s the innocent that pay the price of conflict? The victims and their families are in my thoughts and prayers.
Latest thought is that Russian missile shot it down.
