That's not a pick up line, that's just a dude playing macho.
"Hey, Little Red Riding Hood!" That was not the worst but it's the only one I can remember. I was wearing a red hooded coat so he was kind of spot on, but I was a bit too old to play the little girl.

That's a difficult one for me (Misery, The Mist, The End of the Whole Mess), but I've got to go with Needful Things because I loved the movie before I even knew it was an sK.

I have a soft spot for the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Even though it's not as scary as it was when I was nine, the idea behind it is really brilliant.

When I think of horror movie I always think of Hitchcock's Vertigo, which most people might not consider horror. I do since I see it as a ghost story.

Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier is a good read, moody and atmospheric without being bleak. Ok, this is more than you asked for, probably.
