Me too. Although I've never gotten a chance to watch The Walking Dead. I need to binge on that one.

I'd survive for a while I think. I have a plan. No plan fully survives any situation, impossible to plan for all the variables....but I can read maps, use compasses, etc. Not as spry as I once was by any means, but if I could get to the area I have picked out, I could make it rough on the zombies or whoever else for a while...:sneaky::ninja:

Do you think you could live off the land if forced to?
I think it would depend on the geography. If I was in Alabama, yes, I think I could. A colder climate it'd be game over, lol.

Have you ever been tempted to come to a stranger's defense that was being verbally harrassed? Or would you mind your own business?

I think so. Urban foraging would make it easier; we're lucky to live in a time/place where there are a lot of useful items that would be left lying around. I've never hunted before, so that would severely hurt me. BUT I have no particular squeamishness about hunting/fishing (raised in a hunting/fishing family). My husband has hunted, as have quite a few of my extended family, so if we could get to the area where I want to go I think we'd be fine. Basic survival/living skills wouldn't be a problem--we have a lot of those skills (sewing, cooking, carpentry, gardening, etc).

See? You need to make your move to WY, Ghost. None of those poison anythings there that either my husband or I know of :)

A wilderness without poison ivy?? SIGN ME UP! :)

It really depends on the details of the situation. I'd want to help...I hate seeing anyone berated in public, BUT I am a tiny person so if the confrontation turned physical, I'd be at a severe disadvantage.

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help and a stranger assisted you?

I think we've all had a stranger jump us off when our car battery dies, haven't we, and I can think of other times where I experienced car troubles and a kind stranger helped. Last blizzard we had there was a guy who helped push my car out of a ditch.

Would you shush someone if they were being loud in a movie theater?

Would you pick up a hitchhiker?
Yup, have done so on numerous occasions in the past.

Have you ever hitchhiked?
Yup, on numerous occasions as a teenager.

Are you picky about purchasing bottled water or do you think it's basically just water? :)
Nope. I just get the bottle and fill it with tap water. It looks just as cool.

Did you drink from the hose as a child?
Sure did. The hose, the crick, and the downspouts while it was raining.

How many children is too many? Is there such a thing?
One :)

Have you ever been to the circus? I was saddened to hear that Ringling Brothers are striking their tents forever in May.
Oh, many a time. Even ran off to join the circus when I was about 10. Sadly they had already pulled up stakes and left town.

Do you have a fear of house fires?
No.

Have you ever been in a life threatening situation?
Yup. Usually stupid things done as a teenager, where one false move would have meant instant death.

Have you ever been assaulted/robbed?
Assaulted many times. I grew up in a tough town, there bullies traveled in packs and a thorough beating was in a days work. Robbed at knifepoint once while hitchhicking.

How many cats is too many?
One :)

Did you ever had a pet that you didn't quite like?
I had a snake and turtle as pets when I was a kid. Both like to bite my fingers. Didn't keep them long. A turtle bite is far worse then a snake bite.

What's your favorite TV show?
Right now, probably The Last Ship. The one I remember most as a favorite was The Monkees when it was first on. Once a week I'd sit in front of the TV with my dad's monster reel to reel recorder to get the two songs they played each episode.

Do you think you could survive in such a situation?
Yup, the bigger question would be if I wanted to survive in such a situation.

Do you think you could live off the land if forced to?
It would suck big time, but I believe so.

Have you ever been tempted to come to a stranger's defense that was being verbally harrassed? Or would you mind your own business?
Oh, when I was young I've come the the defense of kids being beaten up by gangs of bullies. Usually got the crap kicked out of me for doing so, but I couldn't stand back and do nothing.

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help and a stranger assisted you?
Yup, once had my sled redirected by the town bully while going down Suicide Hill and went head first into a cement garage. I was unconscious and a woman finally came to help after she noticed I had been laying there for about 15 minutes.

Would you shush someone if they were being loud in a movie theater?
Oh yeah, if I go to a movie it is to see and hear the movie, not some idiot. That is probably why the last movie I voluntarily went to was when Needful Things when it came out (not counting taking the kids when they were young to see some movies).

Do you have a music artist you enjoy listening to, but are afraid to admit?

No, I really don't. I can't imagine Meadow witnessing her father's murder. I liked the ending, though. (Do you?)

What's the worst hotel you ever visited and why?

Jonesboro, AR. The Hilton Garden Inn. Walk into the room, notice the blanket seems to askew on the bed for some reason. Flip back the covers, couple hundred fleas jumping all over the place. Didn't even set my luggage down, backed out of room. Hilarity did not ensue at the front desk.

What's the highest mountain, building, or other high place excluding air travel you've been to?

Thanks for that. After being scarred for life there I'm really not concerned about how to spell it.
Then it must have been the center city one on Hamilton St. There were some rockin' night spots near there, once upon a time, but best not to travel alone after 11 pm. Gotten a lot better since the PP&L Center (where the Lehigh Valley Phantoms) play was built.

(Loved it and the controversy that follows it until this very day!)

Holiday Inn Allentown, PA, there was ummmmmmmmm 'hair' on the towels....

What was yours?
This dive that was recommended by Tourism Scotland - yikes! It was in an old house and looked like it was way overdue for renos. (it was actually a bed and breakfast) but I think we skipped breakfast the next day

Do you think women's haircuts are overpriced compared to men's? (or do you think women need to pay more as they are more 'fussy' about hair?)

The towns with the highest elevation that I've visited were Estes Park, Colorado and Big Sky, Montana. Both are close to 8,000 feet.

What about you?

I was at the "Top of the World" on Ellesmere Island (CFS Alert) for six months

;-D but as far as elevation probably a small mountain on the Holy Isle which is across from the Isle of Arran, Scotland (where we got married in 2005).

Do you like hot tea?

A hotel in Miami, FL. Don't remember the name. It was shortly after Hurricane Andrew, and I was doing some work with American Airlines with their Flight Attendants who lost everything. This was the only hotel available to us and half of it was destroyed. There was little-to-no service and a lot of things didn't work. A female co-worker and I were on about the 13th floor (I believe), and we were taking the elevator down. It broke loose and went a couple floor until the breaks kicked in. Good gawd, could that girl scream.

I don't mind it. Spiced tea in winter, or something. I prefer iced tea, sweetened of course.
