Any good new science fiction/fantasy books to read?

Next month I'm making a trip out of town to the Barnes and noble store to catch up on my fix of Star Wars stuff and some horror books.

Anyone know what are some good science fiction and fantasy I should look for?

Stuff I stick with are Star Wars, Stephen king, Anne rice, Dean koontz, some star trek and little bit of old obscure 1980s Bantam horror

I hear the Dresden Files series is decent?

Also are the Tad Williams books worth checking out or are they a little tough?

I don't read enough fantasy to be helpful with a recommendation but, for something a bit different, have you tried Robert McCammon? He skirts the line between horror and fantasy. He is worthy to bat with King in the big leauge, I think. He knows how to craft a story.

...I’d also recommend Koontz’s Jane Hawk series....

I second what my friend Doc Creed says about McCammon. Also look at Clive Barker's Imajica and his series starting with The Great and Secret Show. Dark fantasy at its best.
