Just moving your thread into the "Chattery Teeth" area of the MB, this is the place we tend to talk about everything. (non SK)Anybody travel a bunch or have any cool stories about venturing out into the big 'ol world?
I've been to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario once. Took a winter train ride into the mountains. It was gorgeous. Otherwise I haven't been out of the U.S. yet, but hope to visit Ireland, Scotland and a few other places.Anybody travel a bunch or have any cool stories about venturing out into the big 'ol world?
I'm digging this thread out of mothballs because I'm super excited about my upcoming travel for this year and want to shout about it.
This month, I have just a quick corporate retreat with an extra day tacked on for fun at this place: Washington State Resort | Mountain Resort | Suncadia Resort
Then, in July, there's King Kon which will be my very first trip to Maine after a lifetime of dreaming about it. I'm sad the trip will be SO VERY SHORT but I already know I'll be back again soon...in the winter (as I may have mentioned a time or 20).
Finally, in November, I have a whirlwind trip planned with 3 nights in Prague, 3 nights in Budapest, and 3 nights in New York City. This will be my first time to both Prague and Budapest and my second trip to NYC. If anyone has suggestions of what to do in Budapest, I definitely welcome the tips! Prague and NYC are already pretty well planned out (just waiting for the Broadway announcements to pack my days in New York with song).
Where are you all going this year?
Impressive list! That's a lot to pack into a year! Norway is on my list. What were your highlights?I'd forgotten about this thread. Since it was started, I've had a bit more travel.
Lagos, Nigeria, 2016.
In 2017:
Oslo, Norway. Connected through Munich.
Taipei, Taiwan, two or three times.
Hong Kong, three times.
Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Seoul, SK, three times in '17 and just got back from my first trip there this year.
Guam.
Astana, Kazakhstan. Connected through Frankurt. Then on to Taipei, connecting through Beijing. Then to Hong Kong, then home.
Zacatecas, Mexico.
Alaska cruise and train up to Denali. Came back through Vancouver.
We drove down to Arizona to meet up with the son-in-law's family. We AirBnB'd it and cooked up Thanksgiving for everyone.
Las Vegas.

I went on a long range trainer and saw the Seychelles, Holland (which was very nice), Islamabad in Pakistan, Nairobi (Kenya), Crete, and a one night stop in Nice, France. We also spent a night on Rhodos Island in Greece.I'm digging this thread out of mothballs because I'm super excited about my upcoming travel for this year and want to shout about it.
