Anyone like musicals?

My son and I enjoy them. My husband, not so much.

I've reserved almost a dozen from the library. Tonight, we watched Le Miz. This is definitely not my favourite.

Over the next few weeks we will (hopefully) see:

Grease
Annie
Jekyll and Hyde
The Birdcage
Godspell
How to Succeed in Business
Guys and Dolls

Can't remember the others.

My son got hooked when we were watching American Idol and they did an Andrew Lloyd Webber week. After that we watched Phantom of the Opera. Then he went to see Little Shop of Horrors live, as well as watching two movie versions.

I love musicals!!! Have seen many movieversions but only a few on stage. Saw Cats on stage in London. Fantastic, it was the original gang i think. My faves are:
Hair
Grease
Singing in the Rain
Fiddler on the roof
West side story
Chigago
Evita
An American in Paris
Silkstockings
Rocky Horror Picture Show
and many others i forgot in my haste.

The Birdcage is not a musical. It is based on the French movie La Cage aux Folles. There was a Broadway musical based on the French movie, but The Birdcage is not based on the musical.
Well, that was confusing!

Oh, to answer your question, yes, I like musicals. We just saw Pippin on Broadway. It was wonderful!

I agree that The Birdcage is not a musical but it's quite enjoyable.

I like some musicals. (I was going to say, "Especially the ones that aren't real," but what's "real" about a musical?) Really like a few of the Disney ones - Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin. Some, not so much. But I was one of the weird ones that kinda liked that Bob Fosse semi-biopic with Roy Scheider... oh, yeah, All That Jazz. And yes, Hair and the Rocky.

Me too but i was the only sibling and got my love for musicals from my mother. We have always had a similar taste in music. Of many different kind.

Yep. The only movies I really liked were the classical type. I loved the comedy of Abbot and Costello. I loved all of Bogy's movies.
