Now here's a thread I can sink my teeth into. After a difficult move I finally unpacked my DVD's and I usually put my musicals in an area I can get to them quickly.

Sound of Music
Chicago
Tommy
The Music Man
My Fair Lady
Fiddler on the Roof
Paint Your Wagon
West Side Story
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Dirty Dancing
La Bamba (musical to me)
The Blues Brothers (musical to me)
The Buddy Holly Story (another musical to me)
Phantom of the Opera (ahhh Gerard)
Les Miserables

I hope to add to the list soon.

Grandma and I saw Spamalot on Broadway. We enjoyed it tremendously, of course.

And I saw Mamma Mia! on Broadway when she wasn't with me. I liked it.

Saw A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on stage. Laughed my butt off (oddly enough, it still seems to be there). Enjoyed the stage version much more than the screen one.

Honorable mention to The Producers. It wasn't amazing to me like it was with some other people, but "Springtime for Hitler" made the whole experience worthwhile.

I saw Barbra Streisand's Hello Dolly when I was about 5 or 6, and was hooked.
When I watch The Sound of Music, I can truly say every word (dialogue and song).
For some reason, I always cry when Gordon McCrae sings Surrey with the Fringe on Top (from Oklahoma!). Reminds me of my childhood maybe?
I used to act a lot in our community theater, and was in Camelot, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Saw Les Miserables on Broadway - original cast. Never got over it. The movie is just okay compared to the live version.

Parents had the album. Pretty much the same way here, and Mary Poppins and Oklahoma as well. Also later in college with the Jesus Christ Superstar album, although the parents weren't into that one much at all.

I sing a lilting version of "Out of My Dreams" for a shower selection. When no one else is around. So you'll have to take my word for it. And you want to.

I can see that. I was kinda "meh" with the movie except for one thing: Don't know the name of the song, but it was Fantine's lament. Never have been so impressed with that actress.

...not Broadway, but Rocky Horror is a favorite of mine...

I thought I had seen it, but apparently not. We watched it today, and there are some scenes I definitely had never seen. My son is 16, and while some people may think that's to young, I think allowing him to watch was fine. Actually, we were saying it would be great for his school to perform it.

From the best

Hope to see that one tomorrow.

...Rocky Horror is nothing but risqué fun....gives everybody a chance to chew up the scenery...
