Are we born into r likes. Did we even have a choice. Was reading the baseball cave thread and people were talking about combinations of baseball and football teams u r a fan of. So I started thinking if we even had a choice.

I believe we like the teams r family like growing up. If ur dad is a browns fan it's probably bc his dad was and now u r. U grew up watching the Browns and walls. Ur a browns fan. Some people might disagree but here is a bit of proof.

My friends always called me weird bc I like the browns, indians and cavs. All cleveland. But in college I like penn state for football and duke for basketball. They were like that makes no sense. How can u be all ohio but college u don't like ohio state. I gave it some thought bc it is a little off and here is what I came up with.

My dad watched all professional sports while I was growing up but never college. So that's why I liked all cleveland pro teams. But when it came to college I had a chance to choose my own teams. I started watching college in high school and for whatever reasons gravitated to Penn state and duke. Not osu. So it's nature vrs nuture. If ur not Givin a chance or opportunity to choose ur probably a steelers fan or browns or whatever bc that's what u grew up with. Be interesting to see single parent homes where no father was present as well what the outcomes were. And much more important our life choices in general. Do we have free will or just the appearance of free will.

I believe we have definite free will. My mom is an avid Broncos fan. I was born in Colorado, but I can't stand the Denver Broncos! I am an Oakland Raiders fan...Shhhh...I do often root for the Colorado Rockies, but...I am really a Boston Red Sox fan. (Best World Series ever!!!) I would have felt like a winner either way. My Man is a serious Pittsburgh Steeler's fan. We have three boys. They have all chosen different football teams to root for. The oldest is a Bronco's fan, the second is a Cowboy's fan, and the youngest is a Viking's fan.
As for other choices, I think that can be free will as well. For example, my boys were raised with absolutely no religion, but all three have chosen to believe in religion in some way. :)

I cheer for Malmö in soccer while i always lived in Stockholm and for Brynäs (from Gävle) in hockey. Never cheered for a stockholm team in any sport. With me its more a player i get attached too and long after he ended his/her career i still go for the same team.

I think after a certain age you just have to start thinking for yourself and making your own decisions.

My Mom and Dad lived in Toronto but cheered on the Montreal Canadiens probably because my Dad was from Quebec

I really do not follow a lot of sports but I will go to a Goldeyes game now and then (our local baseball team)

I'd go to a Winnipeg Jets Game but I think it would be better to win some money first! [tickets are quite pricey]
