Nah
1. I have a mass paperback (for reference purpose) and hardbound of Mr. Mercedes so three copies of Mr. Mercedes (with a same cover) was too much for me (unless i am going to have a different cover for Mr. Mercedes (*stares and drools at UK cover)
2. I'm a student and i tend to spend more money on projects that to my obsessions so i really watch out my money (i really want to have a limited editions of some of the books but my allowance was crying because "she" (my allowance) knows i'm gonna use her again for school expenses
3. My bookshelf was full enough so i am limitating myself for one copy at a time (unless someone gift me a book that i previously have in shelf but different cover, i'm fine. Or if it has a same cover, i'll donate the old one to the library)
4. I always use book boxes for different purpose, to keep some of my paperstuff there so i do not buy too much book with a boxes on it
I have the UK cover (because I'm from there), mine is the one with a blue umbrella amongst a mass of grey ones, but have you seen the W.H Smith collectors edition one? With every new King release they replace the main colour with purple.

They're pretty cool, I have Dr sleep, Revival, finders keepers and bazaar of bad dreams all with purple replacing the main colour. It's a bit annoying though because the chances are that I will get end of watch from there too, and Mr Mercedes will be the only blue one I have. They usually release them half price (£10 instead of rrp: 20) but for some reason Mr Mercedes was about £17 and tesco had it 9 (yep, money is that tight sometimes).

Gotta agree that Baby looks cool and amazing, but my fave color was Blue so i much prefer the original one. But i love the cover tho. (And the fact you say that they release it in half price makes it cool again)

And look, UK's cover was so awesome *staring at my UK holiday edition of The Ocean at the End of the Lane (a gift from my godfather from UK)* that i really tempt to order books at UK using my Pops's credit cards, but i don't know which bookshop in UK can do some shipping from UK to Philippines or does Hodder do some shipping from UK to Philippines and customs here have some serious issue last year so i paused my plan of ordering stuff from UK

I also prefer the blue Mr Mercedes, but there is not much blue or any colour in the original UK Finders Keepers, the purple one is better.

The UK cover for Bazaar of Bad Dreams was so poor that even a purple version didn't help when compared to the American verison.

Waterstones is a major book retailer in the UK and they will ship to the Philippines but any new King book will likely be £20 and international shipping by them is £12.50. That's a bit pricey for a better cover if you ask me, especially considering it's what's inside that counts with books. You could always ask your Godfather to buy one from WH Smith or a local supermarket (Tesco, Asda and Morrison's usually sell them for around £10) and ask him to send it, that way the price will be more in line with RRP.

That FK purple cover was fabulous and it beats the cover of Kiera Cass' The Crown in selection series for being fabulous (it also has a purple cover with a lady in gown lol).

I find the cover of US Bazaar quite disturbing and the UK quite whimsical. But no one beats how fabulous the UK cover of revival was. it was so deceiving that i thought when i saw that first before the US, i thought Revival would be a "Jolly and Light with combination of light psycho horror" novel, different from SK's novel. (Since Joyland was still on the plastic cover at my sheld, waiting for it to read)

Thanks, actually i have two options before august came (because my birthday was at august and popsie was giving me three months to fix and planned of my order to UK)

1. Direct shipping
it means it will sent out to me via customs (or 2GO or FedEx or any shipping company here), since i'm living in urban, it wouldn't be a big problem (usually, rurals have big problems in this). And i would be felt relief because i will know every line of transaction. Money wouldn't be a problem since we are using master visa, so we can order from different countries

The only downfall was the customs, because every delivery here must first passed on customs before sending it to 2GO or any shipping company). And customs here have serious issue regarding to the lost packages last year and some delayed packages (and pops would be upset, i hate to see him angry because he will look like he was ready to kill a person if something wrong happen, especially transaction like this)

2. The Godfather transaction (lmao)
Of course, this involves my godfather. Trusted my godfather much, he knows what i like.
The problem is quite big, the delivery will took long since he was only waiting for his friend to go back at philippines from UK to give it to me. Next is the money, we would have a serious money transaction if that happens, because one thing is sure, we will release money in the bank, convert it in money changer and give it, altho i trust money delivery but i doubt when it comes to bigger money.
Last is he is a busy person, he was a chef in a hotel so i'm quite embarass to send help.

So i was conducting a careful research for shipping transaction in UK at Phil. since this is quite a big transaction that me and my family would ever made. (we are planning to buy 10-18 books at UK and it was all SK. GGWP) and the first time we would order from outside asia and outside philippines. So i really need to be careful and aware. Don't wanna ruin my first transaction until the future transactions.

Well good luck with your transaction, hope it all goes smoothly for you.

There are so many versions of the Revival cover, mine is the purple version of the regular UK cover.

But this is just fantastic, even comes with a guitar plectrum.

I'm a carnival sucker so i easily got soft spotted when i saw tent carnivals lol (okay, revival's purple cover reminds me of witch doctor at DOTA and his power lmao)

I am not a fan of book in box, altho i want to, but i always use boxes of the book for different purpose. And wait! That DS cover tho, i wonder if that purple was applied in the US cover, okay, it looks cool, and i love cats, i'm sucker at them (altho my current pet is a Rabbit)

If transaction would be a big success, i'm planning to buy some future copies of SK books at UK since it was hard to find SK here in phil and as a busy person, it was a major pain in the a**

I just told my grandson to stop plectruming his nose. He just looked at me without removing his finger.
Ha ha, I see what you did there. I've always used a plectrum though (well, I actually say pleck), just as the plastic bit on the body of a guitar has always been a scratch plate to me, never a pick guard.

I don't often buy hardcovers and sets 'cause money -- and I already own the first two, so no. Not that I don't see the appeal, but no.

Besides, I have, like. . . I truly think if every book I owned had cost me jacket price it would total up to more money than I've ever made in my life. Tho maybe a quarter of tho books were in reality, free, many 2 bucks or less and most under 5, with only a precious few I had to have as soon as they came out -- of which, 7 are King books.

Nice to see folks discussing the WHSmith-exclusive collector's editions with the purple-tinted covers. I think I own all of them so far:

Doctor Sleep
Mr. Mercedes
Revival
Finders Keepers
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams
End of Watch

In some cases, I have both the original AND the Collector's Edition. When Finders Keepers came out, I headed straight to WHSmith and was mystified to discover that they weren't selling it. I bought a copy from Waterstones instead (somewhat begrudgingly as they're always more expensive) and one of the girls behind the till informed me that because WHSmith had put it on the shelves too early, they'd had to withdraw it from the time being! I picked up the Collector's Edition later in the week when they started selling it again.

When did they start releasing purple books in the UK. I kind of want all of them.
Not sure but I think Dr sleep was the first limited edition purple one. They're from WH Smith, they did a limited edition cover for wind through the keyhole but it wasn't purple. I have them all apart from Mr Mercedes, I wish I'd waited until I checked my local supermarket as they have the normal red one. I think it would have been better to have a blue Mr Mercedes, purple finders keepers, and a red end of watch rather than one blue and 2 purple.

Here's my mini collection.

I don't know how I didn't your post. :facepalm_smiley:

Morrisons always sell new Stephen King books for 10 or 11 pounds (usually 10). Usually though when I check my local morrisons they don't have it out for a couple of days but I think they did this time but I was already in a retail park with a wh smith in it.
