Excellent idea, Danie!

I haven't read I Am Legend, but I did love the movie.

I have Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and Middlesex in my pile to TBR. I'd like some opinions. Saw them at the thrift store and bought because they've been bestsellers, but I know that doesn't really speak for the quality of the book.

Middlesex is a great book, I can't compare it with anything, really. Go for it.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - I'm glad I read it because I was very curious to see what it was about, but the story in itself...not so great. I did like the pictures inside the book. I know there's a sequel to that but not sure if I'll read it.

Speaking of Dracula.... I have a book on my TBR-pile called Anno Dracula by Tim Newman. Taking place in 1888 where Queen Victoria has just remarried. Her spouse is Count Dracula. It is a kind of mix between Gothic hooror, alternative world and political intrigues with some romance thrown in to spice it up. There is also a murderer stalking the alleys of whitechapel but he is called The Silver Knife. I guess it is the alternate worlds versaion of Jack the Ripper. Anyone of you read it? Just sniffed it so cant say if its good or bad but i do think it sounds interesting.

I tried reading this one but the politics side of it made me give up. I may have read about half - don't ask me how I made it that far, I was probably hoping something more interesting would happen. It didn't. Too much politics, not enough of the rest. I would read anything about Dracula and loved Stoker's novel but this...nah.

Saw that in the library, gave it a gander--thought it looked dumb. They had Varney in that book, Countess Bathory, all yer famous vamps. Like, all the olde Lit bloodsuckers running parliament or something?

Ya'alls ever see that one, came out three, four years ago, s'pose to be the 'official' sequel to DRACULA, 'written' by Stoker's great, great nephew or some such, Dacre Stoker (with an 'assist' by Ian Holt), called DRACULA :The UN-Dead? Dreadful stuff, poorly written, embarrassing.

That one is on my audiobook pile to listen to... I like history and particularly that period so looking forward to it!

Finished the first Waward Pines book and loved the different direction it took to the TV series. Currently reading the second one in the series. I plan on rereading Revival and have been tempted to reread The Stand, so I think I'll give in to temptation.
I loved all three Pines books. Let me know what you think when you're finished, doowopgirl.
