Hi.

I just finished watching High Fidelity. Love the movie, love John Cusack love the music. Kill me.

Two cuts-Most of the Time by Bob Dylan and I Believe by Stevie Wonder.

My tastes are lame and pedestrian, I know.

What are are some of your favorites movie soundtracks?

Thank you!

Honestly, for the movie, the LA Confidential soundtrack was close to perfect - and in some places, just eerily spot on. Finding the guy on the floor of the motel room, with the TV on, playing, "For I have grown so much wiser now...." Just wonderful synthesis there of theme and soundtrack.

The good, the Bad and The Ugly - Sergio Leone did the movie but the master Ennio Morricone did the music.
I liked Braveheart and that action movie The Warriors by Walter Hill. And i always been weak for Star Wars. It is just so fitting and sucks right into the story. One time ago in a galaxy far far away..... Remember i was only 12 when i heard first time so i am indictrinated perhaps?

John Williams has been the soundtrack god. Star Wars. Jaws??? Fuggedaboutit! Never has a movie been made by the soundtrack like that one was. Not many themes can you play the first two notes and people around the world identify it. Close Encounters. Superman. Indiana Jones. Harry Potter. ET. Jurassic Park. And those are just the astoundingly memorable ones. Then we go to the layer of the merely excellent.

Whether you like the movies that he scored to or not, there's no mistaking that he's the superstar of theme music for this lasting generation of movies.

120 miles S of the Pancake/Waffle line
Jackie Brown (1997)

There's a great selection of 70s soul and funk and even an obscure song sung by Pam Grier from one of her movies. Some of the standouts are:

Across 110th Street - Bobby Womack
Strawberry Letter 23 - Brothers Johnson
Didn't I Blow your Mind - The Delfonics
Who Is He? - Bill Withers

I forgot to add that there is a smoking hot image of Bridget Fonda printed on the cd. Just an added bonus for buying the soundtrack. ;-D
