Anyone watch baseball?

This prediction was made in April. Be interesting to see how close he is. I'd like it.

New Jersey math whiz predicts final Major League Baseball standings for 2015 - CBS News
Before the start of the 2014 season, Bukiet correctly predicted that Detroit would go on to win the American League Central, the Dodgers would win the National League West, St. Louis would win the Central and Washington would win the NL East.

The pennant race is heating up. Tigers started the season okay, but I think they've had the worst record through July...maybe June, too. Jose gave Jase a ball in Minnesota, Jase was stoked, Jose rolled it over the dugout roof to him. Jase is about two and a half. Detroit's at 52/55, 11 1/2 games out of first. Houston is in first and Seattle is down in 4th in the West, AL. In the AL Central, Cleveland is down in 5th. The math whiz is a tad off in the AL Central.

Two games in a row fan interference.

Last night's call a fan reached out and grabbed a ball. It might have been a home run....or Reves might have caught it. It took a while of review, and NY got it as a home run. It was so close. Close enough that I am not arguing bad call....just not the call I wanted. ;)

I do hope the fan was ejected though. Interference should always be penalized.

Anyone else watching the Senior League World Series game right now on ESPN2? Ohio vs Texas and is being played in Bangor, ME at the stadium Stephen and Tabitha built and donated to the city. Good game going on and it's tied at 1/1 in the top of the 2nd.

Girls fall softball starts tomorrow. I'm oiling up our gloves and cleaning up the catchers gear. My daughter's 14 but will be playing on the 18 age team. Looking forward to a tough league.

The Jays just acquired an infielder, Pennington.

Am I correct that he can play, but not in post season if they get that far?

Apparently the trade deadline is not an absolute deadline.

Pennington can play post season. They were explaining why right before interviewing him before today's game. I don't exactly understand it.

Trades can still be made after the 7/31 deadline provided the players involved pass through waivers. When a player is on waivers any team can claim him. If multiple teams put in a claim on the player, the player goes to the team with the worse record. If the player clears waivers, they can be traded to another team for players that he also cleared waivers or cash.

Most teams will put all of their players through waivers after 7/31 to gauge interest and try and dump salary if they can. The Red Sox used to do it with Manny Ramires all the time. The just did it with Mike Napoli and traded him to Texas last week.

The Red Sox season has been an unmitigated disaster. It's looking like this will be the third year of the last four where the team finished in last place.

The roster needs to be turned over, the manger fired and the GM kicked to the curb.

Why do cricket grounds have floodlights?
Because bats at nocturnal.

I came face-to-face with a bat this morning. Good thing. I thought white-nosed disease had wiped them out...and it has put a hamper on the bat population. They're so amazing. All of a sudden, there he was, turns on a dime, flutters away. I didn't have time to react. How do they manage to fly?

...oh...I see...we're talking baseball. How shameful and inconsiderate of me to start talking about bats. :(
