Congrats to Toronto. Hopefully they can make some noise starting next week. I'd love to see them, The Pirates or The Cubs win it all. Maybe even The Mets too.....

The Dodgers took the National League West title. They’ll be my team in the playoffs since my wife’s family are diehard Dodgers fans (and my uncle played for them).

Watching today's pre-game show and it reminded me. During yesterday's first game in Baltimore (the clincher) the fans started chanting "Thank you Alex" because Alex Anthopoulos was sitting in the stands with his staff. I've never seen that before.

Red Sox are retiring Wade Boggs's number (26) next season. I watched him play growing up and despite his personal issues and general lousy disposition he was a one heck of a hitter. 7 straight seasons of 200+ hits. He could foul off pitches for days until he got one he could line somewhere. I was even at the first game he played in at Fenway with my Dad when I was a wee SwiftPup.

I even have almost forgiven him for going to the Evil Empire when he left as a free agent. Almost.......
