Oh, they are playing and kicking a$$. I couldn't wait for the season to start after the travesty that last football season had been.

Yes, been looking forward to some baseball. Not sure how The Red Sux will pan out this year though. Hopefully better than last year...LOL.

Why didn't The Yanks and Astros open in Houston where there isn't any snow on the ground......?:D

Hey, this is the big leagues. They play in any weather (unless it's raining, of course).

Joe Garagiola Sr. just died March 23. I didn't even hear a word about it. I remember him being on TV a lot when I was a kid, and he was funny.

He gets us. :)

The 6ix | The Players' Tribune - Written by Marcus Stroman

It all comes down to the motto I live by: HDMH — Height Doesn’t Measure Heart.

I’ll never be the biggest guy on the field. But I’m going to go out every day and compete like I am. And Toronto will never be the biggest city. We’re not New York. We’re not Boston. We’re not Chicago.

We’re Toronto.

And we’re out to show everybody what that means.

If you chose to watch the video he posted, at the end of it, when they are showing the Jays at the Leafs game, it's funny hearing the Blue Jays song on the hockey pipe organ.

Sox going for the sweep of the Jays on Sunday \w/

The Jays have been outplayed the first two games. But I suspect the new turf is an additional disadvantage to the home team right now. That ball is doing unexpected stuff, bouncing much higher than they are accustomed to, in the field they knew so well.

I don't think that is why they lost, but it's not helping.

IT WAS A NOTIFICATION I’d been expecting, although I thought it would come by mail. Instead — perhaps because I’ve been a Red Sox season ticket holder since the days when Wade Boggs was playing third base — I got a personal call from a Sox executive named Sean Walsh.

Or perhaps because you're Stephen freaking King! (Freaking is kind of a double entendre, lol.)

Anyway, I think the netting has been there at our dome since the beginning, and while I would not chose to sit that close without the netting I completely understand what he's saying. And nobody is forcing me to sit there, are they?

Do you think law suits are what is causing this?

I would say it has to be the reason. I don't think they would change something that's working.

I didn't hear that he had died either. There wasn't much baseball on TV when I was a teen so the Saturday game of the week was a big deal. I watched it every week and I enjoyed Joe and Tony Kubek doing those games. Here is an article about Joe I dug up on the espn site.

In Colorado, the story is Story. Brand new to MLB, and he hits seven homers in his first six games. He hasn't even played his first ten major league games yet, and his gloves and batting helmet are already at Cooperstown. He was NL Player of the Week in his very first week, leading the league in runs and RBIs. If he kept up this pace, which of course he can't do, he'd have over 180 home runs by season's end, and the Rockies' best hope will still be a wildcard spot.

Yes. It is the threat of lawsuits. There were two incidents at Fenway last year where a fan was struck by a ball or bat.

I agree with Mr. King abut the netting. It's an overcompensation for what, statistically, is a minimal risk.
