Who's your uncle? A player?

I was at the new stadium a few years ago when it was new and it was very nice. I don't know if things have changed but the only thing that I didn't like was that it was so far out of the city, there wasn't much around it. I love the downtown parks with all the restaurants and bars around the park.

Yup, he played MLB from 1940 (officially wink wink... we're not allowed to talk about the last game of the 1939 season) to 1961 and was on the cover of the very first issue of Baseball Digest.

I think that would be Hank Bowory (I cheated and looked it up on Wiki). Awesome.

Nope, wrong player.

Just think how much HIS baseball card would be worth today! :big_money:

Actually not a whole lot, even the signed ones (except for some of the really old ones in pristine condition). I’ve got a bunch from numerous years. I also had some of his uniforms, bats and gloves which somehow got lost over the years.

The only thing good about baseball is a flat beer, a bad hotdog, and a cloud of gnats that might suck some toxins from your bloodstream.

(Just being obnoxious. Not my sport o' choice to watch, but I did enjoy playing it competitively an age ago)

My 13 year old daughter stood in her softball uniform with the catcher at home plate during the National Anthem LV Iron Pigs game the other day (Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies). They showed a close-up of her on the giant screen at Coca-Cola Park for much of the anthem. She was mortified (she had rushed before the game and didn’t do her hair or put makeup on). I got to utter that immortal phrase... “THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!”
