I think one improvement that could be made would be to eliminate in season trades. Let the teams make their deals in the off season and stop this late season rent a player stuff. I think that really hurts the league that the teams with the money can pluck good players off small market teams for the playoff runs. The practice also kills the support from fans for the small market teams. Why plunk down money for season tickets when you know the good players you are paying to see are going to be dealt during the season?
Very good point. But the reason I am in favor of in season trades it also benefits the small market team. If a players contract is up at the end of the year and the team knows they r not going to be able to sign em they can at least trade em and get prospects, cash ect for em. Otherwise if they don't they get nothing for em. Plus these trades the smell market club has the leverage so they usually get a lot for the particular player. So if ur going to lose a guy anyway u mine as well get something for em.

Yeah, I had some hard time going through it with either Stewart or Stephen talking sh!t about Yankees on every single page.

Well, yeah. It was written by Red Sox fans. What'd you expect? I'd expect the same thing from Giants fans writing a book about when they beat the Patriots in the SuperBowl. Of course I'd never read it.

Once I started "Faithful," I had to finish it - my version of OCD, I guess. If I start a book, I have to read it whole, foreword, afterword and all. The worst one ever for me was "On War" by von Clausewitz. Took 3 weeks to finish it and felt like I had a F350 engine block chained to my waist.

My husband just informed me, he has been trying to get me tickets for my birthday, as a surprise. (My sewing machine was an early b-day present and I expected nothing else.)

However, he's having a hard time finding some for a day/evening we can actually get to.

Just wait for The Jays to tank in another week or so. Then he'll have many seats to pick from......:p

:D

We did this one year with the Sox (and when we still had a little extra cash.....jeepers how many moons ago that was.......) and waited until they were so far behind we knew they weren't coming back into contention. We got excellent seats right behind the dugout at Fenway off Ebay of all places. Close enough to the on deck circle I thought my wife and daughter were going to faint when Johnny Damon came out on deck...LOL

I won't buy other than the real site. Know to many people that got burned. In fact, the last game we attended, we got caught in a line-up because a family had purchased tickets and they were not legit. The people refused to get out of the line, and the employees refused to allow them in.

Many years ago we used to get tickets from dh's boss. He had two sets of season tickets. My favourite were row five with an excellent view of Pat Border's butt. I'm not sure who they played or who won. All I remember is the nice guy sitting beside me who put away his peanuts and ate licorice instead. And Pat Border's butt.

I miss Heidi Watney's butt :)

Got a great view of it when I almost walked into her camera person when they were doing a pre-game segment during the playoffs! Yes, I'm a dog...
