It's going to be a season of discontent for us Phillie fans. I get SO tired of saying "Well, there's always next year" so early and so often regarding all my sports teams.

The Phillies can rebuild quicker if they are willing to part with veteran guys and not ask for half a team's farm system in return via trade. They're GM has to be realistic. He gave stupid money to Papelbon and Hamels and is now hamstrung by those contracts. Hamels is worth the money, Papelbon not so much. Paps is nowhere near the force he was in his prime with the Sox. So glad we let him go when he hit free agency.

That said, Boston will gladly take Hamels from you! You just can't have Mookie Betts or Blake Swihart in return!

True that! But they have a good farm system in the AAA LV Iron Pigs and the AA Reading Phillies for pitching. Their problem is they keep selling off or trading their best farm system players.

The Nats have been a formidable foe for the Braves for a long time. I like the Nats except when playing my team.

The Braves made some big trades. So far so good, they're 2-0.

UGH! A stinker of a game from Clay Buchholz tonight. So classic Clay. One night he is almost un-hittable and the next time out he can't out of the 4th inning. So frustrating. AT least the Sox are 4-2. Pretty good first week. Home opener tomorrow!

Greinke was clutch for the Dodger Blue in a much needed win. We also had two rookies come up big. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

I was so happy to see "OUR" (Nationals) Home Opener.. even got great shots like this one of Desmond/Uggla missing the ball, blowing the game and potential no-hitter. Yippee.....

Sox win again. Well, I should say the awful 'Nats fielding handed us the game. I'll take it though.

Strausburg was not impressive at all. Masterson matched the crappy pitching with a horrific 4th inning for Boston.

From what I've seen so far, it looks like the Sox are never truly going to be out of a game. The offense is pretty stacked 1-8. The only not so tough out is going to be the catcher.

Surprisingly well pitched and low scoring game. Won it on a walk off hit in the 9th.

If every home game we attend can be like last night, I'll be a happy camper! Big win and beautiful weather! Mid-April and never even had to put a jacket or long sleeves on all night.....
