Did anyone see the bizarre performance by the Houston Rockets last night?

The Rockets scored 73 in the first half and only 19 in the second half.

From Elias: The Rockets scored a season-high 73 points in the 1st half, and a season-low 19 points in the 2nd half. That 54-point disparity is the largest by a team in a game in NBA history.

From Elias: Rockets are 4th team in shot-clock era to score 10 points or fewer in consecutive quarters and the 1st team in the shot clock era to score 40 or more points in a quarter and then score 10 points or fewer in each of the next two quarters.

I've been too worried with college basketball and with trying to help coach my beloved Tar Heels that I haven't had a chance to catch an NBA
game....

My pick for tonight is Kentucky by 3

I actually picked Kentucky to win it all in one of my ESPN brackets. Then I changed my mind and crossed them off. :umm: Always go with your first instinct. I never seem to learn that lesson. Oh well, it wasn't a good bracket anyway. I'm not sure anyone had a great one this year.

Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel looks a lot like Tony Romo ;-D

That was a strange game between the Heat and Pacers last night. Between Lebron having to sit most of the game with foul trouble and the crazy Lance antics, it was an odd game. I'm a Heat fan and was disappointed they didn't put the Pacers away last night but I do have to admit that Lance Stephenson makes me laugh. He was at his nutty best (or worst depending on how you look at it) last night. He blew in LeBron's ear, he had several exaggerated flops, he got in the Heat huddle, and so on. Lance is a tremendous athlete and has stretches where he is unstoppable but he sure is nutty. ;-D

Last Night Belonged To Crazy-Ass Lance Stephenson

It should be another good series between the Heat and Spurs this year. Don't be surprised if a couple of games are blowouts like last year. When either of these teams get on a roll, they can really rack up the points in a hurry. I don't think home court matters a whole lot with these two teams. Dwyane Wade is much healthier this year than last but the Spurs are better than they were last year too. The young guy Leonard is a year older and better than ever. As a Heat fan, Leonard worries me more than anyone else. He does a good job guarding LeBron and he is a tough match-up on the defensive side.

My pick is The Heat in 7.

The AC was on I take it.

Yes, they had it fixed. That had to be brutal. I was in the old Miami Arena (it was a piece of crap when it was brand new ;-D They demolished it when it was only 15 years old or so) when the AC was out and just sitting in there was unbearable. I can't imagine what it was like running around on the court.

Sounds like an average game in the olde Boston Garden. :D

I haven't watched very much of The Finals, tbh. Has Ray Allen played much?

But the difference with the Boston Garden is that it was built with no AC so there were fans and ventilation (I'm assuming here since I was never in it;-D). These newer places are all sealed up tight.

Ray Allen plays about 20-25 minutes a game. He has had a great playoffs this year. He has played much better than he did last year in the playoffs (with the exception of the BIG shot!). He's looking like he could still go another couple of years.

The Heat are in deep trouble but I've seen them climb their way out of a few holes before (like last years finals) but if they come back in this series, it will be a miracle. The Spurs are playing so well, it's hard to see them slipping. I think D Wade is hurt because he has not looked like himself the past 3 games. He looked really good in the Indiana series but he has looked terrible in this one. He was playing well in game 1 but took a nasty spill and I thought he might have got hurt then. He hasn't looked the same since. I think the Heat need to come out of the gate with a little more fire. They are notoriously slow starters and the past couple of years routinely get behind by double digits early. But they usually storm back in the second half. This San Antonio team is just too good to start off slow against.
