Congratulations Spurs fans.

I think I'm still dizzy from watching the Spurs pass the ball. ;-D

Dwyane Wade is one of if not my favorite all time Heat player (Alonzo is right there too). It was so awful for me to watch that shadow of Dwyane Wade playing in this series. It was like watching Willie Mays stumbling around in the outfield in that World Series he played with The Mets.

Uh oh..............

LeBron James to opt out of contract with Miami Heat

Will he stay or will he go?

I think he would like to stay but he is giving himself the option to look around. The Heat are probably going to have to do something with Wade's contract and spread it out so there is some more flexibility. Wade is kind of a $20 million dollar anchor around the Heat's neck since he can't play at a high level anymore (it pains me to say that). The Heat need to get a replacement for Wade and Wade needs to become a 6th man. James and Wade were so dynamic together the first 2 1/2 years that it almost didn't matter who else was on the team but now with Wade in such a diminished state, they need a Wade replacement. I think if the Heat can come up with a plan that LeBron likes, he will stay. I think he would rather stay in Miami but he wants to see them get him some new help.

If he does leave, I will say that it has been a fantastic experience to watch him play on a regular basis these past 4 years. I hope the fans appreciate his time here instead of whining about him leaving. I would have rather had him here for 4 years than not to have ever had him here.

I just read that he's going free agent. Probably to negotiate more money from either the Heat or whatever other team offers him the most.
I think it would be poetic justice if he went free agent to get more money... and NOBODY picked him up.

... yeah. I'm from Cleveland.

I've seen parts of the first three Heat games and I must say that I'm impressed. Chris Bosch looks fantastic. LeBron sucks up so many stats and does so much that it's hard to tell how good some of his teammates are sometimes. I've never seen Bosch play like he has played these first three games. I like the new additions, Luol Deng and Josh McRoberts. The draft pick Shabazz Napier already looks NBA ready. I think he was a steal as a late first rounder. The shell of Dwyane Wade has looked pretty healthy so far too. I'm cautiously optimistic but I think they are going to have a good season.

When I look at this team, I wonder who is going to guard LeBron when they play Cleveland. I think I know how the other teams feel now. ;-D

Anyone with a prediction for the championship series?

I think it should be entertaining. I think Golden State is a little better than Cleveland and they have the extra game at home so I'm picking The Warriors. There should be some 3 point records in this series. Both teams shoot a ton of 3s.

Everyone is picking GS but I would never count out a team with LeBron on it. I don't even know who won the game last night, so....

I think Golden State is better but I would never count LeBron out. I had the privilege of watching him for four years in Miami so I know what he can do when he gets in "beast mode."

Irving got hurt at the end of the game last night. If Cleveland loses Irving, it's going to be tough for them.

You live in/near Miami? Hubby and I have visited there twice. Once to see my alma mater (University of MD) play in the Orange Bowl (we played Florida and got pummeled... but it was fun) and a few years ago for our 10 year anniversary (spent most of the time on a charter boat fishing). Anyway....

We ate at this one sports bar almost every night, and, there was a preseason Miami Heat game going on and one guy in the bar was about to have an attack because the bar wasn't showing it on any of their TVs.

I assume you are cheering for the Cavs? Or no?

I live about 90 miles North of Miami.

I am a Heat fan - I don't root for other teams, just watch with interest ;-D

I'm amazed at what The Cavs are doing in this series so far. Where did this stifling defense come from? The times that I watched The Cavs during the season, their defense was below average (and awful at times). This series is the total opposite of what the Spurs did to the Heat last year.

There is still a long way to go but momentum is a very big deal in a playoff series and the Cavs have that.

Here is an interesting article on the Cavs defense. The author of the article feels that this defense has been created by all of the isolation offense the Cavs are running (with LeBron having the ball all of the time). The Cavs are running this offense out of necessity because of all the injuries they have. It's never a bad thing to just give the ball to LeBron all the time. ;-D

This is a clip of my nephew making a killer block this weekend that made the news. It is the very first clip in the video.

High school basketball recap (Jan 9) | KOTATV.com - Rapid City and Scottsbluff

He is a junior. They are having kind of a rough season, one game under .500. (I think.) We are going home to visit and have late Christmas celebrations with my family this weekend, was hoping to go to a game, but they are playing away Saturday.
