Hi,
This is the thread where you can post questions about beauty, makeup, hair stuff, etc.
If you know of a great beauty product, post it here!
All guys and gals welcome!

Here's the first question: I use Loreal self-tanning towelettes. They work great, but LORD, they stink! Does anyone use a self-tanner that smells good? I have not EVER been able to find one.

I've used Tan Towels-they are sold at the nicest spa/salon in town and they have a pleasant smell and work very well!
shopping

A gradual tanning lotion that is extremely affordable (they might even carry it at Walmart) and smells AMAZING is Malibu Tan Hemp Bronzing Lotion...

Everything that I thought was a wonder product back East in the U.S. was a failure on the West coast. I had to rethink shampoo and skin care in a major way because the water and sun exposure in L.A. is much harsher than in Washington, D.C.

That said, I do have a list of Wonder Products.
-sulfur-free shampoos and conditioners. Doesn't matter what brand.
-Vaseline
-Neutrogena Naturals skin cleanser

Hey Lily!
Instead of Vaseline (which is mineral oil-a petroleum by-product) you should try something I found at the health food store. It's called Alba Un-petroleum Jelly. Same consistency as Vaseline and can be used for all the same stuff, but sooooooo much better for you! =D

I found both of these on Amazon! Does the Hemp take a long time get "dark?" I don't want to have to put it on every night!

Well, the Tan Towels work in a couple hours (but are way more expensive) while the hemp lotion is gradual and you don't have to be as careful with the application. When I use it in the morning, I can see the difference by late afternoon. When I use it a couple days in a row I have a nice, natural soft golden color. And it really does smell divine! ;-D

In your mirror.
Whoops! Forgot this.

I dye my hair in the most outrageous red color possible. I also blow dry, curl and straighten my hair at whim. My hair is crud. (I stay away from an open flame. I'll go up in flames!)

I'm going to have my locks cut Thursday. Better to have a nice head of healthy SHORT hair than a long mane of crappy, burnt, split ends.

Peace.

I'm not big on much make up at all, but Garnier's Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller and their Fructis extra body shampoo/conditioner are a few things I'd shill for free--lovely stuff!

Can't help with self-tanners, though--I have an olive skin tone & tan quickly in the sun.

I was looking at popcorn recipes and wondered why so many recipes listed coconut oil as an ingredient as I'd always thought it was one of the "bad" fats. So I searched coconut oil on amazon to read reviews. I was surprised to discover reviewers rated coconut oil as a 5-star skin and hair moisturizer rather than a cooking ingredient. Have any of y'all tried coconut oil as a moisturizer?

We use it for cooking as well as on our skin. Coconut oil is good for cooking because the heating process doesn't cause it to degrade into harmful chemicals, like many vegetable and nut based oils do.

i ONLY use neutrogena gentle foaming cleanser at night and noxema in the morning and Oil of Olay.... i also buy a small container of vaseline and pop some vitamin E gel caps into it...mix it up and use it all winter long. Works like a charm.... 46 and line free.
