So, what's the best concert you've ever been to?

For me, it was Living Colour and Bad Brains at the Orpheum in Boston in 1993. It was the Stain tour.

Bad Brains was the opener. H.R. (their singer) was out of the band at the time but the singer they had sounded just like him. The band was super tight and the energy level was just insane.

Living Colour was the headliner. It was the first time that I had seen them and they did not disappoint. Killer show.

The runner-up for me would have to be Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes. That show was at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. They did mostly Zepplin tunes and it was pretty kick-a** \w/

How about you?

There was a perfect summer night in Prague there was an improvised concert on the Karlsbrukke (charlesbridge) there. The Bridge, one of the biggest in prague was filled with people listening to a very good guitarplayer/singer. It was woodstockfeeling that evening. So many people in a place where usually people don't stop but they did this evening. Have forgotten the singers name but he was an unknown even in prague but he was good!

AC/DC with Bon Scott. I saw them right before Highway To Hell was released and they weren't very well known yet in the US. I saw them at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver (1500 seat place) for $5.00

Bruce Springsteen on The River Tour - Accidentally got great seats because the show was nearly sold out and I had to buy "obstructed view" seats. The seats turned out to be on the side of the stage 2 or 3 rows back with no obstructions.

The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You tour. This was when The Stones used to do those all day concerts with several supporting bands. Also saw George Thorogood (and I think Heart but I'm fuzzy on that and not sure) at that show.

Nine Inch Nails on Thursday November 3rd, 1994 in Tulsa, OK. This was a couple of years before I got married so I was with my ex-girlfriend. She and I were both big time NIN fans and I surprised her with tickets to the concert. She was very...............appreciative..........of the tickets. :heart:They ended up changing the venue of the concert, this was the pre-cell area and we were listening to CDs on the way over so we didn't turn on the radio until later on when no one showed up at Cain's Ballroom, where the concert was supposed to be held. After we heard the concer's venue was changed, we had no idea how to get there, we got lost, ended up in some "Crouch End" looking part of Tulsa, OK, it was not a nice place to drive thru. We finally made it to the Expo Center, the concert was amazing. It was a good night overall, the drive home was long and my ears rang for a couple of days. Hands down the loudest concert I've ever been to. Trent Reznor is amazing.

Gee whiz I couldn't choose if I had to.
Too many different times of my life, times of the talents lives and careers, venues....
There are some that really stick out in my mind though.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse when they toured after they hadn't for years, The Miami Valley Music Fest in '75, it my first outdoor concert featuring The Earl Scruggs Revue, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, and a little band called The Eagles, KISS in '76, wasn't much of a fan but wow what a show, like was Alice Coopers Welcome To My Nightmare, that was ssssmokin'!
The most emotionally charged was definitley Eric Clapton's first tour after his young son died, in that tragic falling accident in New York.
Seen him before, and of course he was perfection, but this show he and his band were absolute magic, to say it rocked would be a complete understatement, and oh my word when he played Tear Drops In Heaven (I got tingles just now thinkin' about it), there wasn't one single dry eye in the house...hmm, think would total about a hundred thousand eyes, seriously, we all, 50k of us, wept openly flickin' our bics.
Yeah that one, if I had to pick, might could very well be the one, I'll probably remember that show when my grey matter turns to mush:blues:

Best concert I almost got to see was Woodstock in 1969. I disobeyed my parent’s demand that I not go to Woodstock with my friend and his older brother even though we had 4 tickets. They didn’t buy my line that it was also going to be an art festival, and I planned on pursuing art in the future. I went anyway... I was only 12. We left early in the morning and I figured we would be back that evening and they’d never know. Shortly after we got across the NY border the traffic stopped dead. My friend’s older brother and his buddy were going to make it no matter what, but they figured they couldn’t with a couple of 12-year-olds. So they drove us back, dropped us off at my home, and took off back to Woodstock. They ended up hitchhiking most of their way in NY and spent the weekend. So the only things I got out of Woodstock was a beating with a wooden spoon from a mad Irish mother, and they brought me back a Woodstock Tee Shirt. My mother complained about me running off to Woodstock until the day she died. My wife always laughed whenever she told the story. “Can you believe he ran away to that thing when he was only 12 and thought we would never find out...”

Standouts:

Yes ~ Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City 1976
Led Zep ~ MSG 1977
Genesis ~ Seconds Out Tour
The Kinks ~ Lynn, MA 1985
Neil Young and Crazy Horse ~ WELD Tour BB Arena East Rutherford, NJ

I missed the Weld tour. I was so disappointed. They played in Miami and I was away on the date they played here.

I didn't actually see the Rust Never Sleeps tour in person but I saw the movie about 20 times. ;-D I was living in Denver and the Century Theater had that concert movie for a 2 week exclusive run. The Century was a big theater with good sound and was perfect for a concert movie. They passed out "rust-o-vision" glasses in theater too. My friends and I were huge NY &CH Fans and we went to the movie every night it played. ;-D Towards the end of the run, there would only be a handful of people in the theater.

Like a few others have said, just way too many to choose from. Different times of my life, different genres of music, etc. Some memorable ones are...

U2 at the Ritz in NYC when they had only just released October.

REM at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ way before they were popular.

Bow Wow Wow at the Ritz in NYC before I Want Candy exploded all over popular radio. Annabella was all over that stage, dancing like her life depended on it. Oh, and a little, little known rap group opened for them: Run DMC.

Prog-rock group Renaissance in Atlantic City in the 1980s. Annie Haslam's voice was pitch perfect and the night was magical.

All Blondie concerts in NYC in the late 70s. Debbie Harry was unlike any woman performing on stage at that time. Plus, the original lineup band was amazing.

Linda Ronstadt at Radio City Music Hall in NYC circa 1979. What an amazing voice!!!

Better Midler at Radio City Music Hall in NYC circa 1980. What a dynamic talent!!!

And so many, many more!!!
