That's just so cool. I got backstage once at a Gary Numan concert, I had a conversation with his Dad before they escorted me out.
Cool!
I got backstage at a Debbie Harry solo show and hung out with her, Chris Stein, Stephen Sprouse and 80s DJ Jellybean Benitez. Sprouse finally ratted me out to the rest of them when I tried getting in a limo with them! lol

I'm jealous you saw The Stranglers!

I've been to a few I would consider brilliant, The Pet Shop Boys at Wembley Arena (twice), Depeche Mode also at the Arena, Kraftwerk at the Brixton Academy, but the best has got to be The Stranglers at Hull City Hall in 2011. I was down at the front pogoing up and down with all the other 40 and 50somethings like a load of teenagers. My back and knees were killing me the next day, but it was well worth it.
I saw Depeche Mode on their first US tour when Vince Clarke was still in the band. Brilliant! Then I saw Vince and Allison Moyet in Yazoo a year or so later. Again, brilliant! A few years later, saw Vince with Andy Bell in Erasure. Need I say it? Brilliant! Finally, saw the Yazoo reunion tour about 5 years ago. Still brilliant!

The Rush shows I saw were pretty good.

First time was in 1994 in Worcester, MA. Candlebox was the opener.

Second time was at the Boston Garden. Had floor seats for that one. It was their first "An Evening with Rush" tour so no opener that time. They did the whole 2112 Overture. Pretty rad :)

Funny thing about Candlebox. I unwillingly saw them twice within a 6 month timeframe. They were the opening act both times and they were awful live both times.

First time I saw them, they opened for Living Colour at Lupos in Providence, RI. This was in the fall of 1993 and the end of the bad 'ole days in Providence. Not a particularly nice or safe city at the time. There is a whole other story that goes along with this show that I think I've told before. It involved a drunken moron jumping off the balcony at the venue and landing on your friendly neighborhood SwiftDog :mad2: I was none to happy about taking Doc Marten boots off the back of my head so when I realized what happened and saw this stupid looking, dread-locked, drunken Frat Boy picking himself up off the floor I went after him. This clown tried to climb back onto the balcony when he saw I was coming. The bouncers helped him back on to the balcony. By grabbing his dreadlocks and yanking him over the railing. They then proceeded to drag him downstairs and toss him outside. And by toss, I mean they literally picked him up and threw him out the door. Anyway, Candlebox wasn't very good live that night.

Second time I saw Candlebox was when they opened for Rush. They weren't very good then either.

The sad part is I like their studio records. They're just one of those bands that can't pull off their material live. Or maybe I saw them on two "off" nights. I don't know. Maybe someone else here has seen them live and can provide another opinion?

I saw Erasure in Hull City Hall a few years back too, they were, as you say, brilliant!

Dying here. You saw Michael Jackson in concert? I am so envious.
When I was 5 or 6 my dad took me and my brother to see Michael Jackson in KC, when the turned down the lights someone came out with a giant sword and my brother told me they were gonna chop of Michael's head and I started bawling. I cried the whole concert. My dad was so pissed.

That's the only way you'd ever have gotten me to go to one of his shows...;;D

Every one of the 23 Rush concerts I've seen since 1984 (with number 24 coming next week).

Actually, right up there would be an all-ages show I went to with some friends at the Bayou Club in DC back in 1981. I was 14 at the time, and the show was a new Irish band called U2. Been a huge fan ever since.
