I know this is a tough one but we r always ranking novels. Wondering ur gals and guys what your top 2 or 3 Novellas are. My top 2 favorites are hard 4 me to say which one is first bc they r up there 4 different reasons. My favorite 2 read is Shaws hank but the one that moved me the most, angered me the most, loved, thought, laughed ect ect was Act Pupil. Most will probably disagree with that one being up that high. Also that one had quite a bit going on right before the kid did the ( well u know) didn't want a spoiler in there. So much going on from different angle s that could have made that one a novel for sure. Just loved that read

Well, The Body is the best SK yer gonna read. That sucker hits me down deep, deeper than any other work by any other writer. Ya'll step back, let a man talk...

1922? Hell yeah.

The Mist. Step back.

And if yez can dissect Wind Through the Keyhole, and piece together The Skin Man, well, sir, ya can't get much better'n that.

I think I've only read 4 novellas, I'd rate them in this order:

The Langoliers
The library policeman
The body
Sundog

I feel stand by me is better than the body. I started secret window secret garden but I never finished it, I can't remember if I just didn't feel it or I was starting a bit of readers block.
Definitely check out full dark, no stars. All 4 of those novella ' s are freaking awesome. King kicked ass on that one.

Glad someone agreed with me on apt pupil. Is the long walk considered a novella. If so gotta redo my list bc that would definitely be in top 4 for me.
It's actually in the area of a novel when you look at word count. The Bachman Books, in which it appears, has them packaged as novellas, I believe. That was why I didn't include it in my list. King's first agent considers it King's best novel (when comparing it to Carrie). Correct me if I'm wrong.
