I just got the best present ever. Next year I will fill an even number and since my mother can't get out and buy me a present (to ill) she said that i deserved a really lovely vacation at a spot I perhaps wouldn't get to otherwise. So she said that she would buy me the trip and that would be a combined christmas and birthdaygift. I had to buy it myself but now it is all done. In the middle of march i will go to Jordan (the Country, not the River) for two weeks. Included are a visit to the ancient city of Petra and Swimming in the Dead Sea. The hotel itself is situated on the beach of the Red Sea and will give lots of oppurtunities for bathing, and tanning. Don't know what they eat there but I always look forward to trying local specialities when i'm abroad. My opinion is that I have the best mom in the whole universe. I'm very happy about for it is a bit too expensive for me alone but i really wanted to see Petra and the Dead Sea and the Red sea. Now i really have something to look forward to. Just wanted to share my joy. Didn't know where to go with it otherwise.

I'm not much of a photographer (i saw Scotts awesome photos!!) but i'll try. When i get back i will try to say something about it. Will probably just turn off totally during the trip and concentrate on experiencing and relaxing.
Oh that is so special, Kurben. Sounds like a wonderful trip and something you have been dreaming of doing. May you enjoy this vacation trip. Please, when you have seen all the sites, tanned and enjoyed the Dead Sea- write a post telling us all about it. Hugs for your mom.

Pretty cool! But, why not Maine? After all, it IS Stephen King country....
Too expensive. A trip across the atlantic is more costly than the much shorter one to Jordan. Have to wait. But it is on the list of places to go to together with Australia, NZ, The Chinese Wall, Sumatra, Goa in India, Egypt, Mexico, Peru, New Mexico, Canada and of course Maine.

Great present.

There is a deli located near where I work that specializes in foods brought in from Lebanon and Jordan. They have a candy to die for called Turkish Delight, and my favorite flavor is Rosewater (distilled from fresh rose petals). You’ve got to try some Kurben when you’re there... if you haven’t already.
