he also did a movie which was probably inspired somewhat by that movie, only in this case the aliens just rode on your back while controlling your mind. the puppet masters. it's not bad either.

Not seen that one, but loved his remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. My dad took me to see it when I was a kid - in those days it was amazing what would make it into a PG rated film.

Yes, I saw that one once, though many moons ago now. (I recorded it off the TV one year, around Christmas time. The fact it was on VHS and my long/slow play machine was still seen as cutting edge will tell its own story!)
It was pretty good from what I remember. Nothing earth-shattering, but not tear-your-eyes-out-and-disinfect-your-brain terrible, either.

Aliens.
Star Trek: First Contact.
and Wrath of Khan.
Star Wars
, the original one. And The Empire Strikes Back.
The Incredible Shrinking Man. Way ahead of its time on its approach to moviemaking.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the one with Donald Sutherland.
Terminator and T2.
Jurassic Park.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
.
Fifth Element.
Enemy Mine.
Dark City. Kiefer Sutherland at his creepy best.
I'm sure there are others. Back to the Future series. Honey, I Shrunk, the first one, was entertaining. My kids love Spaceballs, but with a few exceptions, it left me unimpressed.
Wait... does Time Bandits count?
And I'm a fan of the original Tron, with the exception of a couple eyerolling moments. (Hey, I'd kiss Cindy Morgan, too, but programs kissing?)

I’ve always been partial to the 50’s and 60’s science fiction movies. Some of my favorites have already been mentioned. Others (that also might have been mentioned) I’ve always enjoyed include: Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Blob, Godzilla, The War of the Worlds, Them!, Barbarella, Fahrenheit 451, Village of the Damned, Planet of the Apes, The Time Machine, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, and my all-time favorite... The Day of the Triffids.
