Same here and not party people anyway. Chances are very good I'll already be in bed before midnight--just another day. Yup, have officially entered "old fart" territory.
Is that where they filmed the bean scene in Blazing Saddles?

Me? I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, which is cool due to extra money. I'm used to working holidays.

We usually stay at home. The wife's family comes over, and sometimes a few of my kid’s friends who's parents go out for the evening. I make lobster tail & steamed clams. The wife makes a marinated sautéed shrimp dish. Breaded shrimp goes out for the numbskulls. After we eat we put munchies out for the rest of the evening, and play ping pong (which covers the pool table for the holiday season) and family games.

Sparkling non-alcoholic “wine” for the kids. Most adults drink beer, and I’ll start on the scotch around 10pm when things calm down. Champagne for midnight.

God, I’ve gotten old and boring. :(

My brother and his wife were supposed to come over from Seattle today and stay a couple of days but their dog is acting up (high strung, anyone??) so they have cancelled. :flat: They took the dog to my SIL daughter's house last night for her to take care of while they were gone but even without fireworks going off the dog is too stressed out. So, it's going to be just me and my kitties tonight.... Like Marsha said above- I'll be in bed before midnight anyway.

Same here! We're generally in bed by 9 or so anyway.

We stopped going out on 12/31 many years ago because in our area, people tend to think that this last day of the year should be spent wrapped around a bottle of hooch then driving themselves home. Do you have big plans for tonight??

...nope, no hi-jinx here...Tracy will be getting ready for our belated Christmas tomorrow, with my son being home and I will be getting underfoot which I'm quite masterful at...today is also our 21st wedding anniversary-which I think we'll celebrate on Saturday when she has the day off work and the "get everything ready & nice" stressors are over for her....

I'm too old nowadays, but holy cow, in my late teens and early 20's? The New Year's Eve parties were events for sure. I have no idea how I survived some of them....

The biggest! We make horrible-for-us appetizer foods that we only eat on NYE (lol), play games, listen to 80s music, and watch movies until midnight :) The kids might even all be here this year--two oldest don't have parties (as of right now) for the first time in a few years, #3 is getting sick so she's staying home, and LilMan is only 8. I love this kind of NYE :) My fur baby has a UTI, too, so someone would have to be here to let her in and out a jillion times, anyway.
