So, this little shyte ( ) has not only figured out a way to get out of his cage, but also how to squirm his way back in. I have no idea how he's doing it.
Have you checked every single bar on the cage? My bird's cage has one that looks completely fine but one end is not actually attached, Zippi the budgie hasn't found it yet I found it accidentally while cleaning..

We've found all the obvious imperfections and zip tied them closed. There was a section my husband found that we felt sure was the problem, but Leif still got out. Day before yesterday, he was putting himself in and out of the cage all day. Yesterday, he stayed put. He won't slip out while I'm looking, but my fear is that he's so small and squishy that he's fitting through the normal bars; the other budgies can't follow him out or I'm sure they would. I'm thinking we might have to put a mesh around the entire cage if this keeps up.
