hi Neesy, no I didn't keep them, I had asked her if she would take them, which she did since she was familiar with their needs, and at that moment they were a little banged up from each others beaks also. I had not ever intended to cage such beautiful creatures I had only done that temporarily as to figure out what to do with them, just releasing them there in the same area didn't seem like an option when the neighborhood kid who caught them, whom I talked them out of, was still out there having adventures and might catch them again. :smile2:
Oh that's good! Kids can sometimes be cruel without realizing what they are doing.

I have a friend who likes pigeons and they are often letting them go (some people actually eat them, too!) Whatever floats your boat, I guess (I suppose it is not any worse than eating chicken or turkey)

While a co-worker and I were taking the person we support for a drive today we saw a flash of bright yellow among the trees in a local park, when I parked the car we realised it was a probably someone's pet budgie. (I think)
I came back after work with my cat cage and some bird seed and this little guy dropped down out of a tree onto my hand to feed.
He/or she did this about a dozen times and each time I was horribly unsuccessful at getting the cheeky lil blighter into the cage.
This guy/or girl was smart... and super fast!

When I went back for yet another try later in the afternoon, I couldn't find Birders again, so will try again tomorrow morning before work.

That is super cool, gal! I've only had a bird land on me at a theme park - never in nature. Are you going to keep him if you catch him? He's (she?) beautiful.

If we couldn't find the owner, my co-worker wanted to keep him. She has a good set up already and had been looking to buy a bird.

I've been back several times and he's just not around now. There was a lot of rain last night and I just hope he found shelter somewhere, poor thing.

Magnificent budgie. May it be safe from the weather and may it see the wisdom of a good home. Thank you for your kindness, Flake.

Last month when I noticed a bird had built its nest on top of our porch's ceiling fan motor, I thought it was a pretty dumb place to build a nest. As it turns out, mama bird was pretty smart. Her nest survived the terrible storms that generated those tornadoes that hit Canton and also a bad hail storm. I took this photo yesterday. There were four babies yesterday in the nest. This morning, all but one baby has flown off. The last baby is currently sitting on a fan blade looking around :) (I didn't realize how badly the windows needed to be washed until I took the photo lol.)
