I won't be participating in any aspect of the insanity this year.
In years past, I worked in the shoe department at Belk on Black Friday......last year, I had to go in at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening. This year, I decided I'm not doing it. It's always utter chaos, and it brings out the "mean" in people.

A lot of places actually start Thanksgiving night.
I went last year with my daughter to get a HP tablet, and a new coffee maker. I won't be doing that this year! It was my first, and last time!
My daughter, and her husband are going next Thursday night. He has never been in that mess either, and I'll be anxious to find out if he will ever do it again.

Nope...though Staples is tempting me with a $100 ASUS laptop... Still, that would mean rushing out on my guests after dinner, so not likely :) Poor daughter has to be at work at 6PM and likely work all night. BH observed the Ritual of Black Friday one year and swore he would never go again. The crowds were awful, but he could take that. The workers at Wally were breaking the rules and letting people have more than one of the thing he was there for (A GameBoy, I think), and he could deal. But when he saw someone punch a pregnant lady to get a VCR, he was done. :wha:

Didn't exactly mean a like but... Had to mark the event in some way. Punch a pregnant lady? These people were not humans anymore, i think. Some weird signal, like in Cell, had temporarily robbed them of their senses. Sounds like a gathering of Zombies and not anything else. So my advice, stay away!!!!

I honestly haven't personally seen the legendary Black Friday chaos that seems to run rampant in a lot of places. Makes me feel like I'm watching strange creatures on the Discovery Channel or something. If I can I might go out and shop since my workplace is close to the mall anyway. Mostly, I just wait until Cyber Monday. I buy 90% of my stuff online.

That stuff started to spread over here last year, Asda (owned by Wal-Mart) sold tablets (the computers, not the drugs) for £50 - they lasted a few minutes, and a woman got punched over a tv.

Also, I know it's a little bit naughty but I can't help but think of, and laugh at south parks take on it.

This is why I shop online! I don't thinking risking life and limb to save some money is worth it.
And they have great sales online! You often get free shipping or, in order to get a good discount, you might have to enter a PROMO Code which is usually found at the top of the page. I like being able to shop in my PJs at any hour of the day, should I feel so inclined.
