14. Finding a typo in a book is the equivalent of hearing nails screech across a blackboard.

Once I worked in publishing this one never, ever bothered me again. There is no way in heck that a sizable book can ever be published without some little typo somewhere. Everyone involved with the publication of the book does their best, but they slip in somehow. We are all just human.
It doesn't normally bother me but I do tend to notice them. But I find it easy to just read over them.

You know though - I'm not protective of my books. I break spines, turn down corners, read in the bathtub and while I eat - sometimes I get food on the pages. I am a little more gentle with the hardcovers because I don't buy them often, esp. if I find a SK hardcover. But still - I'm a book slob. You can look at them and say : Renee's been here! I don't want anyone selling them off when I go to the clearing either - I want my kids to have to drag them around with them until they go as well. Imma hafta put it in my will: NO ONE SELLS THE BOOKS! You must love the books daily - dust them, open them, read them, talk to them.

Right after my own heart. But I am alittle to gentle on my books sometimes. No eating or drinking while reading.

You better add the clause 'No one gives away or donates the books.'
