Yes, you have to be present to get a ticket and they go on sale at 9 AM on the 11th when the book is released. The signing is at noon on the 11th.(NYC) You have to get it with the purchase of the book on the day of the event. I just spoke with an employee of the store. They said call back closer to the event.
With that being the case are there any opportunities available to get things signed? I mean for me, the gunslinger is the be all end all, so obviously being able to get it signed would mean a lot more to me than getting a new book signed. I mean i have Roland and the tower tattooed on my forearm.I know that through the mail is no longer an option, so are there any options? I mean I live in Indiana so I know im not just going to run into him on the street some Saturday night haha. I appreciate your guy's help and info.
As the lovely Ms.Mod said, it is really a time constraint thing to keep a signing limited to just the current book. When I've attended other book signings by famous, but not-as-famous-as-Stephen-King authors, buying additional books by the author onsite, or even bring in something older from home was OK.For whatever reason, the King new book signings usually don't allow you to buy a copy of the new book and get another book signed if you want. Why they do that is beyond me. I doubt King cares what he is signing and the book store certainly doesn't care as long as you buy a book from them. But that is how it goes. I like the ticket idea, though.
Actually, it was the book stores that declined the offer as they felt the logistics of figuring out how to advertise and then implement that the day of the signing were more than they wanted to bother with so limited it to being just REVIVAL that got signed. The best way to get an older book signed is to keep an eye out for him to appear at some type of book festival. He seems to do that about once a year or so. They typically limit it to one per person but don't care which book you get signed. I spoke to the people sponsoring the event and they said "signed" copies will be handed out at random after the event.Hi there Ms. Mod (I assume the one that I should direct this to)
Im new here and I just had a quick question. Im planning on driving to the book signing in Kansas City on Nov 15th. Itll be about an 8 hour drive(yippee). Anyway I know you guys aren't releasing info about the signing tour until the 15th but my questions are more general. I have never been to one and have no idea what to expect. My big question is can I bring my first printing gunslinger to be signed? Regardless it will be a bucket list item to be able to meet the man. I just didn't know if you were allowed to bring books in addition to buying revival,Thank you so much for your time. If this was a stupid question I do apologize, im just excited and curious
Yes, we added the details to the promo page once it was okay to do so but at the time the question was asked, I was not at liberty to give out that information.I spoke to the people sponsoring the event and they said "signed" copies will be handed out at random after the event.
