I am usually careful, but then it just gets read. And re-read.

It made me feel better when I heard that Mr. King likes to see a beat up book to sign.

Reminded me of something that happened in church. My in-laws were ministers. This woman went up to MIL proudly showing her Bible in brand new condition and bragging it was 5 years old. MIL laughed, picked up her leather bound Bible, all dog eared and even written in and said this one was only 2 years old.

But if my bookmark lost (just like what happened to my previous bookmarks, i used my exam papers and formula sheet or my bookstore card as a bookmark

One of my book has a movie ticket (teared the barcode because yeah. . Already watched it) as a bookmark actually

This is my mouse pad, same design as my three bookmarks. I have three as I usually read three books at a time; I also have coaster rugs in same design. Just love this design as my dad had one in his living room.

I use anything and everything I can get my hands on when a scrap of paper is not handy. I've used tiny branches, locks of hair, cigarette lighter, thread, and page number memory (surprisingly this works most times if I get back to the book within 24 hours). Sometimes I'll judge the thickness of where I am and just do a mental 'scan and find' when I pick it up again.

I used to make these bookworms for school fundraisers.

Last year when one of my son's friends was trying to raise money for surgery I suggested they do a fundraiser for him, and I offered to make a pile of these. (Didn't happen, but these are cheap and quick to make. And sell out.)

Great way to use up yarn scraps, too, I would think.

Do you guys remember when we made a ton of bookmarks for SK for his birthday one year? Moderator has he finally lost/permanently marked a spot with enough of them that we should do that again?

As for me, I'm a book wrecker. I dog-ear and crack spines. And read in the bath tub, and carry books in my purse/diaper bag so the pages get all bent. And worse.....

Now I do most of my reading on the Kindle, I don't know what book lovers think is worse?
