I guess it sometimes depends. If I can get the same story from both, I prefer the book every time. So, I voted for books. :)

For me reading a book is very much like playing a movie in my head, except that I get to cast it.

I've seen some pretty good adaptations (and I've seen some horrendous ones), but the best movies are the ones I make . . . with more than a little help from the author.

If you really want to have some fun, talk to people who write movie "treatments" and then watch the money people make entirely different movies (or none at all).

I much prefer books but will opt for a movie over a book on rare occasions. An example for me is "Lord Of The Rings" -- it was WAY smoother to digest in movie-form than the book
