Let us remember all who suffered and still suffer from this day in history.

I recommend The War on Truth...9/11, Disinformation and the Anatomy of Terrorism by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed. The information contained therein, gathered together in one fairly comprehensive study, will make you reevaluate what you believe about our elected leaders. Ahmed did not include some information about Ramsey Yousef, the 1st World Trade Center bomber...who for whatever reason was known by a local man, Stephen Dresch, passed away recently from cancer, but who was digging at whatever truth Yousef held (now in Florence with a mafia figure who was a kind of cellmate in New York at the time of Flight 800). But Ahmed did cover so many terrorist events, 9/11 the big one. It is not "conspiracy" stuff and although I have not looked for it...I would not be surprised if there are others who tell a like story...I'm thinking F.B.I. agents who were called off the trail of the 9/11 terrorists. And then with Flight 370...I dunno...the world is a crazy damn place. How much information did the Russians hold, how much was ignored, and how much have we not heard about as yet?

Somewhere over the rainbow
Just a year since Boston was attacked - 'though it feels longer.
Terrorism didn't win... It only made us stronger.
'though we saw the worst of man we, mostly, saw the best.
Cowardice of 2 young men made heroes of the rest.

Strangers rushed to render aid to victims of the blast;
I have never seen so many people move that fast.
We will always mourn the three who died that April day;
That's a sense of loss and grief that hasn't gone away.

Yet, how many more were saved by strangers from the crowd
Rushing in to help the wounded? They made Boston proud.
Didn't hurt that local hospitals are world renowned;
Better health care for the victims couldn't have been found.

On this anniversary I dedicate my rhyme
To those brave survivors; praying that they'll heal with time...
Knowing that, for them, a single year is not that long
Hoping they will lean on us, 'cause we are Boston Strong.

I hope the good people of Boston know that all of America is behind them, with them, in their grief, outrage, and recovery.

Freedom and security is always a balance. To the extent that we have a little less freedom and more security now, the terrorists and fearmongers have succeeded. But that's just one battle, and it's carried not just in the US but worldwide. And to the extent that such people seek to lessen our resolve, they fail utterly and cannot win this war.

Despite the excesses and shortcomings of governance, despite the disputes and squabbles among ourselves, we shall always persevere and ensure, as Abraham Lincoln so memorably said 150 years ago, that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

All the best to Boston on their day of remembrance and in continuing forward to their shared brighter future with us all.
