I have concerns, since Carver began walking rather quickly, that he might have a heart attack-hmmm. There is this "feeling" that maybe, just maybe he might feel that he should keep what he has figured out between himself and Ellie. But can he? Will his true to self allow that? Will surgery make him feel differently about "life". A second season could be one of keeping secrets?
Exactly my thoughts. I think he changed over the course of the season and was not as driven once the "killer" was caught. It helped make up for his failure on the other case and had begun to care about the people in Gracepoint and how it affected all their lives. Since Joe was willing to take the blame and possibly give Tom a second chance, especially when it was more of an accident than a straight up homicide then he might be more willing to look the other way. My concern was that Tom might never really get over it even after having finally confessed to his mom and the guilt of what he'd done both to Danny and his father ending up in jail would eventually catch up to him.

Exactly, and that is where Broadchurch and Gracepoint and really go in different directions.

Yay!

I really enjoyed this show.

I had suspected everyone and their mother at one point or another. Ha! But when I heard

Miller says to Susan, "How could you not know?" I KNEW it was her husband, Joe. And those words would come back to haunt her.

Also, Tom denied his father had touched him but why did Danny e-mail him, "Your father is getting tired of you"?

:umm: :smile2:

Peace.

Poop. It was who I suspected. It's too bad there won't be a second season. It's not a terrible show--there are plenty of real stinkers that have been around for years (lol).

Sorry. I'm a bit thick but, can anyone tell me

Tom, the son, denied his father had touched him so, why Danny e-mail him, "Your Dad was getting tired of you"?

I might have messed that up. :smile2:

Thank you!

No, he said that, and since they aren't doing another season, we just aren't going to get to know. grumble.

Mod, I just added Broadchurch to the title since this thread was a discussion about both. Now with Gracepoint cancelled, will continue the Broadchurch part of the discussion.

Anyone watching? This season isn't as riveting, I hope they pick up the pace a bit -- soon.

Been watching this season of Broadchurch. My ears are getting old and having trouble understanding Ellie sometimes. Those Brits speak fast. Otherwise, think they'll be getting more into why DI Hardy came to Broadchurch.

I have to turn on close captioning with any accent most of the time. Although I have found the people who do the transcribing sometimes do a horrible job.

I liked the second season of Broadchurch, will there be a third? What would the focus be? On whom?

I just checked, yes, there is a third with David. And the woman, Miller! She was in Hot Fuzz. I was pleasantly surprised what a great actress she was in a serious role. She did great in Hot Fuzz, but she can pull off drama too!
