Hey all! So glad to join StephenKing.com. I have always wondered if, or if not, why there hasn't been an attempt at creating a graphic novel of Carrie. Can anyone give me any information on that?

I mean, they tried twice, to make more "faithful adaptations", of the novel to screen. But I think it would've been better if they had shown the destruction of Chamberlain, more extensively. Could have had the formula as half courtroom testimonials showing flashbacks as each survivor of the"Black Prom" testified in front of the white commission, the gas main explosions, Teddy's Ammco station and the guy who came out of the police station right before it exploded to see Carrie destroying the fire hydrants, and explaining how he'd never met her before, but inexplicably knew who she was, (as did many who saw her that night did) and how they could hear what she was thinking. Sue at the kitchen window looking down over the hill and hearing the town whistle going off. I can imagine hearing the whistle in the background as all these events took place. All the testimonials from all the different people intown. Sue crashing her moms car at the bottom of the hill as TeddTeddy's exploded. Encountering sherriff Doyle and the hysterical, Vic Mooney. The gas main explosion. Mrs. Seward's testimony about the live wires frying people in the street. The black smoke shooting out of their mouths as they charred in front of her. WOW! They could have really done it well on the last remake in 2013....what a shame. I just had this picture of how it would look like on screen as I read it. But a graphic novel of this would be amazing! It would be the closest thing to a visualized film version of the story. Much more of the nights'chaos could be conveyed with this.
I've been a fan of King's since I was 10 years old. There were two people who inspired me to write. Stephen King, and Stevie Nicks. Fiction, and songwriting/poetry. I was lucky enough to have one poem published. I figure I ought to keep at it. I'm in the middle of trying to write something that is such a wonderful prwmise, but it's so BIG and I lack the funds of hiring researchers, and researching everything myself has been daunting. It involves so many properties of physics, and ancient astronaut theories. I've been trying to read Zachariah Sitchen's earth chronicles on the ancient astronaut angle, but it's been difficult to get a meeting with someone down at OSU'S Physics department. I'm about to just go down there and sit in the waiting room until someone talks to me to get me out of their hair. Ha!
....they have done The Stand and are continuing the tale-spinning of The Dark Tower, plus The Talisman died on the vine...haven't heard a peep from Marvel about Carrie though...but your thoughts are well-taken....
