Warwick, the foreman from "Graveyard Shift", from the collection "Night Shift".

I had to choose between drawing larger rats or having more of them in one pic.

Great ideas all around. I bet those Bob Gray and Pennywise drawings would be cool. It'll be interesting to see what you highlight from The Shining and Night Shift. There's a story I really like in that collection called "Quitters, Inc.". "Graveyard Shift" is great, too. I'll be looking for them, for sure.

Just finished "The Lawnmower Man" this morning. Do you know what that means? "Quitters, Inc." is next.

Of course, right now I am reading "The Way Station". The gunslinger (after finishing "The Gunslinger" I know he is called "Roland") just met a yet unnamed boy in a destroyed building in the middle of the desert, then he fainted. I think I will want to know more about this situation before I go back to "Night Shift".

For now, a compilation of the "Graveyard Shift" pics I have finished. Would there be more in the way?

Thanks!

Doc, I still have not started "Quitter, Inc.", so I don't know if I will be drawing anything from it. I hope I will find something or someone to draw.

For now, though, I go back to "The Stand". These are Nadine Cross (Nadine-mom) and Leo Rockway (Joe). Nadine is not happy to see "her Joe" is more independent and does not "need" her anymore. She may also be angry because he loves Mother Abagail. :D

I like this one, the way that you integrate important details from the book. Have you thought about any of the scary scenes from Pet Sematary or IT?
I liked the previous drawings but wondered why you didn't highlight the horror aspects. Great job!

Nothing scary in particular from those two yet. Although I want to do the banana heels scene. I just have not been able to decide what specific moment of it to portray (or may end up doing the whole sequence).

I would love to do the horror illustrations, too. But I suppose this is just the same as the super-hero pics I draw. I rarely draw any super heroics, doing mostly ordinary day scenes. It may be because other people already create those pics, and few do the everyday things, so those are the ones that keep coming back to my mind. A pic of Jake Chambers has been in my mind, and it is also an ordinary event (that may or may not change for the worse moments later).

Let's see what dark moments come to my mind to draw them in the future.

Yeah, I definitely think it's cool that you draw scenes that depict, maybe, lesser dramatic moments. Ordinary moments. That's probably my favorite indicator in your drawings, that you don't overdo images we've seen a hundred times. I still would like to see how you pick your horror subjects and how you portray them. Regardless, thumbs up.

But I like to look at pics of Pennywise and Jack Torrance, ad nauseam.

I hope this is not breaking any rules. I just want to share a couple of pics I drew about this story (with at least one more coming, hopefully soon).

The first one is a simple picture of Henry Bowers, wearing his pink jacket and playing with a knife.

Stephen%2BKing%2527s%2BIt%2B-%2BHenry%2BBowers%2B%2528001%2529.jpg

The second one is also of Bowers, but this time facing one of the Losers, Stuttering Bill himself.

Stephen%2BKing%2527s%2BIt%2B-%2BWilliam%2BDenbrough%2B%2528001%2529.jpg

I hope you like them. Next one will have Bill again, with my other favorite Loser (and, would you say, Bill's second in command?), Richie Tozier. ;;D
Yes! These are awesome!

Thanks! Judging by your avatar, I'd say you like that book, right?

I like the extreme perspective. Joe looks like he's running REALLY fast! :)

You know it. :D

If Larry had been somewhat weaker by then, or if Joe had been older/stronger, the story might have been very different. Good thing for both of them he was still just a lean kid.

My first free weekend in months (with no theater obligations for a few weeks, starting now), so I invested the time and finished two new pics.

Both are from "Under The Dome", a novel I read during winter vacations, and which inspired some images I only now could work on.

The first one features two brave boys, Ollie Dinsmore and Private First Class Clint Ames. I think this was the first couple of characters from that novel that made me think I really had to draw them, even if I love Joe McAllister from the TV series, these two guys won in the end. :culpability:

Stephen%2BKing%2527s%2BUnder%2BThe%2BDome%2B-%2BOliver%2BDinsmore%2B%2528001%2529.jpg

But then, I could not make the young Razors (and friend, in case Joe is not one of them) wait too long for their own pic. So here they are: Benny Drake, Norrie Calvert and Joe "Scarecrow" McClatchey.

Stephen%2BKing%2527s%2BUnder%2BThe%2BDome%2B-%2BBenjamin%2BDrake%2B%2528001%2529.jpg

There is also a "work in progress" with Officer Tiddies, I mean, Officer Wettington. I must have started that one back when I had just finished the book, but I still have not finished it. I waited for the right moment to get the best Ollie + Private Ames picture I could, so I started with another of my favorite characters. I love how Jackie Wettington is described so differently depending on whose point of view the novel is following. She is a dumb loudmouth in Big Jim's chapters, but one of the best cops and a brave and patriotic soldier in Barbie's. I guess I should go back and finish that one soon. =D
