I couldn't see the pictures yesterday, either! Gorgeous, Dana Jean!

And the Starry Night picture is going to be beautiful, AnnaMarie Looking at that made me wonder your normal plan of attack, it looks like you started just a few rows at center, then worked up. I normally start at center, then work one quarter at a time.

I don't think I commented on your beautiful felting, Moderator Very nice!! They will look great in a shadow box.

I have a teddy bear cross stitch I've been working on off and on, seems like forever. I will try to get a good pic sometime today. Have almost one quarter of it done, and this one the bear is center, so I did do all of the bear before moving on. This one has been really difficult, especially the bear, tons of colors that are just barely different, made it very hard to keep points of reference. He turned out really good, though! (If I do say so myself.)

This is the painting I copied. The original is Pablo Labato. He does amazing work. I'm going to be doing a copy of Elvis for a friend soon. I can't afford these people's work, so I just do the best I can to get the feel of their work. I think I did pretty good.

I ended up having to hand draw it on the canvas. I was going to use a projector to trace it out, but the bulb burned out and expensive to replace. So, I did a lot of drawing and erasing to get a decent copy.

Also, this was still a work in progress at this point. I had touch ups and clean up still to do.

Those are truly amazing!

Here is my teddy bear in progress.

2015-04-21 08.40.57.jpg

He looks cut off at the legs, but he is sitting in a wagon, which I haven't gotten to yet. Some outlining will define him a little more, and the curtains to his right. I think the rest of it should go quicker, more definition between colors than on the bear. Of course, "quicker" is taking into account my time, or lack thereof, that I have to work on it. ;-D

Beautiful job, Cat. I've always admired the skill it takes to do hand needle work.

I LOVE teddy bears :) and thats the cutest one I've ever seen :) I don't see any pattern lines - is that counted cross stitch?

I tried counted cross stitch once. I kept losing my place. My eyes wouldn't stay focused. I got headaches and started having anger issues. Had to go to therapy for a month.
I have gotten to where I need my glasses to look at the pattern, but not for the stitching yet, so I understand completely! And this pattern is multicolored, which I thought at first would make it easier to see, but I think I prefer the all black and white patterns. It helps me to just keep the pattern folded, and use another piece of paper or a bookmark to keep my place on the pattern. :)

Usually I start in the middle and sort of circle out. Or pick a direction and work that way. But my last picture, I got to the edge of the material....and no extra material AT ALL. This one is to big. I kept obsessing that my material was to small. I kept measuring...and re measuring. And finally decided to head to the top. Which left me worrying...was my material wide enough? Now I know...yes it is.

Oh no! What did you do? I think if I had gotten a bunch done and then found out I didn't have enough material, well...you would probably have been able to hear me scream clear up there in Canada! ;-D

Thanks a lot!
