Absolutely gorgeous! I wonder if it would work well with a pear/apple mixture? I love that for winter tarts, but some recipes don't work. Might have to give it a try.

I have made it with apples and pears, the Granny Smith apples work the best. They are both the same texture and firmness so they
bake evenly.

Does anyone have any advice? I am fairly new to crocheting. The afghan I am working on is made with red heart yarn and the yarn is very "stiff." I am wondering if I can do something with the washing machine to fix this after I am done. And if so how would I dry it? AND.....do the colors tend to run? I am doing rainbow granny squares and am worried about the red running into the orange and yellow. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice anyone has!

I remember the first time I learned that red dye isn't always colorfast. I threw a new red sweatshirt in the wash with white panties. Luckily, I didn't mind having pink panties but I've been real careful since then to set red colored fabrics with cold water and white vinegar before I ever wash red items with light colored items lol.

Cold water and white vinegar also helps to prevent flannel from getting all those little balls.

Not my usual crafting, but do these look like brooms? My grandkids are coming for at least four days. The older one likes to March around like the "scary scene" from Bednobs and Broomsticks, and I am not letting them March around with real brooms.

And here are some monsters for the little one. Some I made, some were made by my other granddaughter.

Little monsters! (This is what my dear old Mom called the grandkids!) Well, actually "wee monsters" - tongue in cheek.

Very cool :) Are those water pipe foam insulation tubes? One year I gave a couple young neighbors, who were play-fighting with broom handles, a couple foam tubes to play with instead so they wouldn't get hurt. They loved them lol.
