It does--but it doesn't lift the needle, it lifts the presser foot so you can adjust the fabric. I'd never had that before and when they were showing me all the features of the machine when I was deciding which one to buy, I thought I'd never use it. Wrong! Use it all the time and try to use it when I'm sewing on the serger. Might work better if the serger had one.Just gorgeous. And love that quilting on the back. Quality work. Do you have the Bernina that has that knee control that lifts the needle? I love that thing. I wish I had that.
