You should be happy, they're great! :) I especially like what you did with the Insomnia slipcase title. Most people would have extended the background evenly around the title - I like how you let the letters blend into the white at the top and bottom.

I don't think I explained that well lol. I like unconventional but have difficulty expressing why.

AnnaMarie You've inspired me to order a Christmas stocking kit and book on how to do needlework so that maybe by next Christmas I'll have a stocking made for my granddaughter. Not sure I'll be brave enough to share it after seeing what gorgeous needlework you do, but because of it I'm going to at least give it a try. :smile2: I'd better hit the lottery soon because I'd already outgrown my house with all the craft supplies I have and now I'm adding more.

I think I know what you mean. Depending on the book, I try to match the design as closely as I can. It is not usually possible for me to get them to be an exact match like the professional cases that CD produces. Mostly because I am using a Cricut to cut the stencils instead of a dye and hotfoil stamping process. The stenciling presents it's own set of challenges. I also have to factor in how difficult the wrap will be using the two color layers. The more complex the letters, the harder the case becomes to glue everything in place.

This weekend I will be working on several slipcases that I have been planning to do since I started this little hobby. The ones that I am most excited about! I'm sure everyone can guess what this next batch will be... :heheh:

To bad we don't live closer to eat other. I could do the hand stitching and you could out them together as stockings. Though I've no doubt you will do a wonderful job of the entire thing.

What kit are you doing? Embroidery or cross stitch?

Fixed that for you here--sounded a little too Stephen King-ish to leave as is. ;-D

That would have been great. I'd know she'd have a keepsake worth having if you did the stitching. I'm going to try a cross stitch that has the pattern printed on it as I figured that would be a better choice for a first project. If I like it and do well enough to keep going, I might eventually do a counted cross stitch. I went with this one as I thought it would stay with her even as she gets older

I'm going to blame auto correct.

That is such a cute stocking.

The only pre-printed I ever tried to do is a Thomas Kinkade picture. What I liked about the one I bought is the instructions were more suggestions than anything else. Here's this area with a river...blue might look nice. And that bridge there, maybe add a bit of brown, or black.

What I did not like about it was....French knots. Thousands of French knots.

We could have swapped that. French knots is one thing I do know how to do! ;-D Should be getting the kit on Saturday if the post office cooperates so will keep you posted on how it goes.
