I've finished the stitching in the stocking. Sorry for the poor quality picture...bad lighting.

Does the name look centred?

Moderator I usually prefer to use Mill Hill beads instead of French knots. But this pattern uses just one thread for the knots and wrap around needle only one time. So, in comparison, the beads were really big. They made the Santa in the top right corner look possessed. (DH suggested I add horns. )
Yes the name looks centered - so you are making this stocking for a fox?

Nice job. I like them alot.

Thanks! I am definitely leaning towards doing the whole set with the spine in Gold (Key), Silver (SK), Red (Title) and White (Ka symbol). Then on the front it might be Silver (SK) Gold (Divider Line) Silver (DT Book Header) and Red (Title).

It will be considerably more challenging than just using one solid color for everything, but I think the end result will be very attractive.

Thank you so much! That is really kind of you! The DT slipcases have been taking me quite a bit of time. Besides a few snags, I have been immersed on writing my first novel (via NaNoWriMo). I also plan on taking a bit of time with these slipcases and trying to make them as perfect as I can.

Like the color choices and how you will lay them out. May your task go smoothly. Be proud of your hard and excellent craftsmanship.

A strawberry & rhubarb tart.
Thanks for all the kind words!

Oh! I havn't had rhubarb pie since I was a kid - I love rhubarb pie :) I don't think rhubarb grows down here :( I also love pumpkin - all the mini pumpkin pies with cinnamon cream cheese rosettes are mine! Did you hear that, GNT and DJ? MINE!!!

That fennel, shallot and basil pizza sounds interesting. I woulda never thought to put fennel on a pizza. I like fennel - I drink fennel tea when my tummy hurts.

Honestly. If there ever comes a day I'm in your city, will you feed me? We don't have to meet at your house, we can pick a random bench in front of the police station so you know I just want y our food. And good conversation of course.

Any chance you can swing by Texas on your way to CYB's and pick me up? :)

The use of four colors really makes the slipcases look terrific! I think you have the process perfected :) I hope you don't do like I oftentimes do and loose interest in craft projects once I've figured out how to make them lol.

Fennel is big with us Italians. We cook with it a lot and also eat it raw at the end of a meal to aid in digestion (sort of like your tea).
My mom puts it in her spaghetti sauce (gravy if you live in MA ;-D) and I do now. I knew there was a different spice but couldn't put my finger on it so finally asked. I'm not a licorice fan but a little of the fennel gives soup and sauce recipes a nice kick so I'm using it more often now.
