I have been on the fence about getting this. The price tag is a bit steep, but with the upcoming Salem's Lot edition as well, I am thinking it might be a worthwhile purchase. Can anyone comment on the quality and size of the book? I got Blockade Billy slipcase edition from CD off eBay including the trading card. And it is really nice, but I was shocked at how small the book was. Really short compared to all my other 1st Trade Editions on the shelf.

Blockade Billy was basically a short story with a hard cover so that probably has something to do with its size. Every novel that I have purchased from Cemetery Dance has been larger than the regular trade editions and the quality has been excellent.

So the Carrie Gift Slipcase from Cemetery Dance is taller than most of the typical Trade Editions? Or just thicker than the original? I currently only have an early BCE of Carrie, but it is one of the older cloth and boards ones so decent quality all considering.

Whether it is worth it is entirely subjective depending on your interest in collecting books and financial means. I've bought the ones with the best artwork like Thinner. The books are pricey and several publishers are doing various editions. It is a bit overwhelming that so many versions of his books are being re-produced but the King market is red hot. Likely because so many of his fans are now in their 40s and 50s at the peak of their buying power.

My edition of Carrie is 10.5" tall and 7.5" wide. It's about an inch larger each direction. The type is done in red and black (red page numbers and headings - black for everything else). You will be happy with it. It's a beautiful edition.

I didn't know CD released a special Edition of Thinner. I didn't see that on their website. I wish I could find one of the CD editions of IT. No such luck unless you want to spend a small fortune on eBay.

Cemetary Dance didn't do a Thinner limited, it was PS Publishing from England. PS has already done limiteds of Skeleton Crew, Carrie, Pet Sematary, and forthcoming is 'Salem's Lot. None were signed by King (unless you have $1,200 or more to get the lettered editions). They may still have copies left. If you go to their website and decide to order anything make sure you change the payment amount to US funds instead of pounds (UK).

Whoah. Skeleton Crew looks pretty awesome. How is the quality of the book itself? Nice boards and cloth? It looks like the only other one they have is Carrie, but might just order that one from CD directly. I just did a search on eBay for Thinner by PS Publishing and see that one as well as a Pet Sematary. Man I need to get a second job. LOL

Is CD releasing all of the original DoubleDay catalog? I think Pet Sematary was a DoubleDay as well.

Yes, it looks like CD is going to do all of the Doubleday books. Should be interesting to see what they come up with for The Stand, as the limited edition of that one (from Doubleday) is the most sought after limited of King's books. It is the 'Holy Grail', so to speak. It really is a gorgeous edition and one that will be quite hard to top.

It isn't cheap to begin collecting limited King books. The prices keep going up and up and up, even for the new books. Just think, when the unsigned limited (10,00 copies) of The Gunslinger came out, it costs $20. Now an unsigned limited goes for around $100. But, as long as there is a demand (and more and more people start going for the limited editions) then the prices will keep rising. Nature of the beast.....

Yes, I did subscribe. Also looked into Subterranean Press. Pet Semetary Pre-Order was already sold out. Ack.
That's because Sub Press is not the publisher. They're only getting X amount of copies from PS Publishing, which is the folks producing the book. Go to PS Publishing and see if they have available copies.

No luck there. Already sold out.

Since Pet Semetary was a Double Day, I wonder if this will be coming out from Cemetery Dance in the near future.

Looks like I don't have to rush to try and get one of those PS Publishing Pet Cemetery 30th editions...it is indeed coming soon from CD!

Cemetery Dance To Publish Six Volume Set of Special Collectible Editions of Stephen King’s Doubleday Books Beginning With Carrie |

I just bought The Shining Anniversary Subterranean Press Edition, CD's Carrie Gift Edition and PS's Skeleton Crew Special Edition. I already have a 1st Edition of Salem's Lot Illustrated Edition from Double Day that was originally released a long time ago. So not sure I will buy all 6 of these CD Special Editions. But NightShift, The Stand and Pet Semetary will be a must for me! I really wish I could've gotten CD's release of IT. But no such luck in finding that anywhere.
