Working this morning (and posting on SKMB).
"I'm about to install updates and reboot!" message comes up. Hah! Postpone! Gotcha!
I keep working (and posting) away. I just happen to alt-tab, and I see the hidden sign this time, "I'm about to install updates and reboot!" Hah! Postpone! Gotcha!
I still keep working (and posting), obviously losing track of time, because suddenly the windows all start shutting down and I manage to save my work just in time before everything blanks out.
Okay, this'll take a few minutes. I go downstairs to be the Occasionally Good Husband and either unload or load the dishwasher, whatever's needed. I open it up, take out a bowl. Clean. I start putting the dishes in the cupboard until... hey! This one isn't clean! What happened?
In retracing my steps, it was apparent that the bowl looked clean because the dog had been allowed to lick it out. Now I've got a cupboard half full of filthy, or at least dog-licked, dishes.
I'm not going to say, "Some days you can't catch a break," because I was able to save the file, after all. And really, the day's still young. Plenty more opportunities await.
By the way, I pretty much despise the song quoted in the title.
