I just finished salems lot about 1/2 hour ago and now instead of going to bed I reflected on the book. ( Have some questions on the ending which I will ask in later posts.) Then I opened up Duma key and started reading. Is this a clue I'm an addict. I'm mean it's 1230am.

Was wondering if any of you ever got clues which made u discover ur an addict. Like those comedians who say " u might be a red neck if". I ask u To finish "u might be a book addict iffffff"

Here's a start. U might be a book addict if, in the middle of the night u wake to use the bathroom and u stub ur foot on a pile of books bc you've run out of bookcase room. Looking forward to reading yours.

I knew I was an addict when as soon as I knew there was a new paperback out (couldn't afford hardbacks back in the day), I would be constantly at the shops checking the shelves and now I can afford hardbacks instantly log onto well known on-line shop and ready to pre-order.

Ha! Nice thread!

You might be a book addict iffff

You need a separate moving truck to haul your library/books to your new home.
I just got back from packing up most of my books at my old house. There are at least 10-15 boxes with just books alone. And I haven't even packed up some others in the basement. I'm happy because, even though my car is super small, I was able to fit all my SK books in it and bring them home with me. So now, they are waiting to be unpacked and put on their own special bookcase! I probably will have to rent a separate truck if I don't want to bring them here one box at a time! :)

When I was a newlywed and moving into our first house -- my wife and I had been co-habitating to that point -- I stopped at a U-Haul place and picked up some boxes for packing. I was active Navy at the time and trained not to collect a lot of detritus I would have to carry around everywhere I went, but Judith had a vast hard-cover book collection that included every Stephen King to that date.

In an effort to get a leg up on the packing, she spent a Saturday while I was on duty packing up her book collection, which I thought was very nice. Of course, she had picked the large boxes to pack her books in and -- this just in -- paper is heavy.

When we got the truck and started loading, I noticed that I could barely lift these boxes and I asked her if she had chopped her mother up and packed her away without me even having to prod her. She didn't think that was as funny as I did, but she said she was sorry about the books, so that was okay.

I've always found moving to be something of a pain in the ass . . . but I do love to tell that story.

There's a similar thread on the board "You know you've read too much Stephen King when..."

On topic, you know you're a book addict when you're on your 3rd e-reader in a year and a half. I much prefer physical versions of books, but try not to get too many of them; I'm a student, and will be moving after my current program is over, and don't want to have to move too many. Stephen King is about the only author I read in paper format anymore.
